Standing around near a column, Tami waited for her partner to show up. She didn't know anyone named Ashton Anchors, but she hoped he would be tough enough to be able to win the first round. Her main objectives were to win the pretty looking bracelets and to impress her brother.

"Ashton Anchorsss!" bellowed the girl once she grew impatient.

Hearing his name, Ashton swivels around, looking for the source of the voice. He eventually realizes it's the small girl who called him, he wanders over, wondering what she could possibly want with him.

"...Yes? I'm Ashton."

An odd look was given to Ashton, then to his pair of dragons.

"...You're my partner?" Tami was disappointed.

"I-" Ashton looked the girl up and down, realizing who she was. "That's my line! No one told me my partner would be a kid!"

"No one told me my partner would be a weirdo! And one who wears a headband. A...headband." Cringing, she shut her eyes. "Nobody wears those now! Ugh!"

"What's wrong with my headband? It keeps the sweat and hair out of my eyes while I'm fighting! It's quite practical, I'll have you know!" He had only talked to her for a few seconds, and already he disliked this girl. "Besides, how do I even know you can fight? You're just a child! I doubt you could even hold a weapon!" And you sure don't look like you have Leon's brains, he thought to himself and the dragons, who took to sniggering at the silent remark.

Pulling down her goggles over her eyes, she pulled a baton out of her belt and proceeded to aim it at his forehead where the headband rested.

Ashton takes a few steps back and places a hand on one of his swords. He doesn't want to draw it, but if she starts attacking him...

"If you can't deflect my baton, how are we supposed to win?!" Tami whined, tearing at her pigtails a bit. "Waaah, why couldn't Brother be my partner!?! I bet we'd win then!!"

"Wha- You don't think we can win? I've seen more combat than you can imagine! And Gyoro and Ururun have seen even more that that!" The dragons barked their approval at his words. He folded his arms and glared at her. "It's you that I'm worried about! I bet you think this is all some big fun game, don't you?"

Glaring up at him, she replied, "Shut up!"

Ashton let out a large sigh. "Why do I always get stuck with the mean ones...? I never thought I'd say it, but I miss the old days..."

The 'mean' comment struck her hard and she backed away from Ashton a bit.

She did have a knack for being mean. Being mean was the reason Beat had gotten angry at her since she had been rude to his real sister.

He didn't really notice her change in attitude; he just assumed he was winning an argument for once.

"Look. If we're going to stand a chance at all, at least tell me what you can do. These guys look pretty serious..."

Turning her face away, she closed her eyes. "I just recently discovered these powers... I'm not entirely sure of everything I can do." Puffing her cheeks up a little, she continued. "I can freeze things in place for short amounts of time. And I have some water manipulation spells."
