Will the Real Maverick Please Stand Up?

On my Maverick thread, I note that Jizo-Sama has posted an article that I really enjoyed. It talks about the source of the word “maverick” and how the family from which it came doesn’t connect with McCain - or his policies - at all.
“It’s just incredible - the nerve! - to suggest that he’s not part of that Republican herd. Every time we hear it, all my children and I and all my family shrink a little and say, ‘Oh, my God, he said it again.’ ”
Palin is addicted to this word. I am SO tired of hearing it. Perhaps if it were true, I might think otherwise.
