some thoughts on this whole Palin thing: It’s not about a piece of the pie. It’s about a whole new PIE.
Please, understand that I’m a neo-feminist (as I was termed today.) I don’t believe that women have the right to be anything a man is. I believe that women

palin is very lucky. palin is lucky that women like margaret sanger stood up for women's choice and equality. the women who were ridiculed, denied and scoffed at during the suffrage movement deserve better than this woman. without them, she would not be where she is. i'm not saying that she doesn't have a right to have different beliefs but come on! lots of people worked really hard to get where we are and we still aren't there yet.
plus, palin is a republican. one of the basic beliefs of the republican party is smaller government. if this is true, then issues like birth control and abortion should not matter to the republican party because these are personal matters. so she can keep her beliefs and not bestow them upon everyone else. unfortunately, reagan had to bring god to the white house and this is no longer the case.
so is palin wrong?? i don't agree with her on anything. technically, it doesn't make her wrong. altho, i am sad for those who worked so hard to get us where we are today. i feel like we are minutes from being thrown back into the dark ages.
randy_68 we already have socialism in this country. we just have just combined the worst part of socialism and the worst part of capitalism and BOOM! you have our country. you can't deny that this machine we are running is broken and it needs to be fixed. the solution is simple but it will never come around bc it just doesn't make enough money for the corporations.

yup. We are well on the way to a welfare nation. The machine is broken, and in some areas just doesn't exist anymore. That's why I believe in term limits for senate and the house of reps. Too many of those people have been there too long.
And as for being thrown back into the dark ages, there are too many advocates for women to be ignored or overran. I think there is very little chance of this one woman affecting a reverse of current womens rights.
But, I will say that the woman who says she wants complete equality then complains about the job conditions later, under the excuse she is a woman, should be taken out and shot. I've heard my share of those type of women who can say they can do this or that but they need this or that to be able to do it (outside of minor accommodations, because everyone is different).
