Something is going on right now that has Kris and I discussing our local support system. Kris doesn't have much of a local support system. The majority of his family is in Poland. His father is in Canada, but is at sea 5 months a year and is difficult to get in touch with when he's on the ship. His brother is in Florida and we rarely hear from him. Kris will call him 1-2 times a month, but he only answers or calls back about once every 2 months. My family is in OKC (my brother is in Kansas), but they aren't really the best support system either.
That leaves us with friends. Many of Kris' close friends have moved away from Dallas in the last couple of years. Kris commented that I don't really spend time with my friends so I must not have a good support system there. I told him that I think I actually have a really good support system here. I know most of my friends would do anything they could if I just asked. I also know that the alums would be more than happy to step into any roles that I needed filled if I asked. I hope I never need to ask, but I wanted you all to know how much I appreciate knowing you are there if I ever do need you. :)
As far as what is going on, we will be consulting a specialist at the beginning of July. Most likely nothing, but just enough to make us want to follow up.
