It may not surprise you to know that I watched him last night for the first time ever, and I found him to be hilarious. I particularly love how irreverent he is to religion. It's refreshing to me.

But he's a total dick about it. And Maher has a long history of seeming to take stances primarily because it will piss off a large group of Americans.

And yes, it does surprise me. Being a liberal doesn't automatically make you tolerant of assholes.

Assholes can be funny if they say things that are usually taboo. My asshole-tolerance is much higher for those that make me laugh.

after seeing his interview on AOTS, I tend to agree. I also agree with lukalew that he can be funny. But then again, I'm sure Stalin said something pretty funny now and again, too.
