So Roz shows up at 7:30, we go to the airport, load her down with bags and send her on her way, and I drive back home without running out of gas, somehow. Park, go in, find odile half awake, already knowing I'mgoing to end up driving her to work...
We go back out, try Karen's truck first, only to find the door is frozen shut (and the other one's lock was already not working right)
Back in the car, over the bridge, back home, try waiting for an idiot to leave so I can park on the right side of the street. He goes nowhere, drive down to the corner where the truck is, chisel a little and pull more on the door. still nothing, Idiot guy drives by, so I hop in the car, go around and park in the spot, go back to the truck, finally get the door open.
Go home, add another layer, go back to the truck, drive over to get some milk, come back, park outside the house, go to the car, back that up and park that behind the truck... because they were both on 'the wrong side'. At least they only do street cleaning once a week here (monday one side, the next day the other).
Thankfully, I think this will be the last of this car highwire act. The truck can sit there until the end of the week when it shouldn't be an issue to move it back, the car is easy to park so that's no issue...
Moral of the story, one car is enough.
I love driving the truck. It's just easier/newer/got more power, but parking that thing is not easy. It's higher off the ground, and thus easier to damage someone else's front end since the bumper is higher...
I still can't believe that door was frozen. karen wanted to see snow ever since she got here - figures it would snow the day after she left, right?
