I LOST "KILL COPS (C:)" TODAY, aka "Why I am getting Ripped"
HEY DAN KELLEY I HAEV A FUCKING UPDATE FOR YOU:
So I receive my athlon xp 2700 processor, gig of ram, nvidia gigabyte motherboard, and new case thursday while Brett and I are laying down the tuba-kazoo line for our Kazoo adaptation of Mars the bringer of war by Gustav Holst.
Thursday night I begin installing my old soundcard and harddrives into my new computer and it won't boot so we decide it's the video card after reading some vague warning in the nvidia manual, written in engrish by koleans.
Friday work for 7 hours, then after I'm worn out I go to phsyical therapy for my "back injury" that probably had nothing to do with work and have them "stress test" me for an hour, after which my entire body hurts. Oh and I'm running on 3 hours of sleep at this point. Zen says Radeon 5500s cost 130 so I head to compusa and get one. Then I take my friend amy to her boyfriends house cos he has her car.
Next I begin working on my computer again.. this time I get it to boot because the guy at compusa told me i needed to reinstall windows on the hd. Dad says "don't put the whole computer together yet, just do this and get it working then install the rest" so i do it, planning on immediately copying all my c drive stuff to e as soon as i get it working so I can have a backup on e, and so that i can reinstall all the programs on c, and then copy the directories for the programs back so they have working registry files for the new os. Thats done, I get it to boot once, turn it off to begin installing other harddrives.
Everything installed.
Illegal system disk error
Replace disk and click any key
Won't boot from the damned harddrive I've just (not an hour before) reinstalled windows too..
this persists until 9 aclock (5 hours later) so I go to bed, tired as shit. Today, I come home from work at 3 and I install the hd in my old computer and get the same error. Woo this is fun. What makes it better is that during boot, when it shows the ide sequence it shows up WD38923 in ide0, then I can go into bios and it recognizes it as a Western Digital 40gb volume: "kill cops."
BUT IT WONT WORK.
Take it to Chris's, same problem, so I figure what they hell, I'm over here anyway, I'll take it to compusa. Guy at compusa looks at it "looks fine, oo and its western digital caviar, these things are pretty sturdy," hooks it up to his thing.. "taking too long to read it, usually its almost instantanious.. yep.. failed immediately man.. I'm really sorry" turns it sideways, it clicks, we both get confused, keeps doing it "its got a short in it, it's restarting everytime i turn it sideways."
So in conclusion, I just upgraded to windows xp about a month ago, so there was basically nothing on the harddrive.

I LOST EVERY FUCKING PEICE OF MUSIC IVE FUCKING WORKED ON FOR THE LAST 2 YEARS OR SO..
it wasn't so bad at first.. I figured I'd only lost the stuff from the last 6 months.
Then I started thinking about it and the last time I deleted .m3u (project) files was after I finished my last cd. Which means, IVE LOST EVERYTHING I'VE WORKED ON SINCE THE ENd OF SENIOR YEAR.
I still have the drum files though, MAYBE, I haven't managed to get the computer to recognize the backup tracks cd yet, which only consists of Dan Kelley's drum tracks, and music tracks recorded by him or myself while I was up there.
LET ME REITERATE
A) That amazing solo and feedback/fuckup track in Let's Get Drunk and Fly Airplanes into buildings?
GONE, can't be replicated because 1) I have a new soundcard that records things at a different quality with a different sound and 2) I COULDNT PLAY IT THE SAME WAY TWICE IF I'D WANTED TO
B) The town on the two guitar tracks during the chorus of Mod Rock Death Techno and that wah wah flange sound that happens at measure 16, GONE FOREVER, NOT REPLICABLE.
C)ALL MY FUCKING MUSIC IS GONE, THOSE FUCKING KEYBOARDS THAT SOUNDED REALLY RAD THAT I ADDED TO CAITLIN'S WRISTS ARE GONE. BUT THEY ARE REPLICABLE. POINT IS. I HAVE TO START ALMOST ALL OF THE CD FROM THE BOTTOM UP, HAVING ONLY DAN KELLEYS DRUM TRACKS, LUCKILY AS WAVE FILES ON CD, AND ONLY BECAUSE HE MAILED THEM TO ME, AND START OVER. I WAS ABOUT TWO WEEKS FROM FINISHING THE GODDAMNED MOTHERFUCKING CD.
Brightside to this? I have mp3s of almost everything I've done.
Downside of that? THEY AREN'T FINISHED. SOME OF THEM ARE COMPLETELY SHITTY AND NEEDED A LOT OF REWORKING.
I WAS TWO WEEKS AWAY FROM BEING DONE, BUT I STILL HAD A LOT OF VOCAL TRACKS TO REDO.
Oh and back to that let me reiterate comment, the main reason I'm getting tanked right now is:
WE LOST THE FUCKING KAZOO TRACKS THAT BRET AND I RECORDED FOR MARS THE BRINGER OF WAR.
BRETTS TRACK TOOK US 4 HOURS. YOU COULD NOT BEGIN TO UNDERSTAND HOW HARD IT IS TO PLAY A KAZOO IN TUNE FOR AN ENTIRE 8 MINUTE SONG, WE HAD TO ARRANGE CAKEWALK TO FIT THE MUSIC BY MEASURES SO WE COULD GET EVERYTHING ARRANGED PROPERLY.
