santa barbra is a fucking eyegasm.
i'm pretty convinced that just about every other uc out there is a lot nicer looking than berkeley.
so in my optical engineering class, there's one kid who's is deaf and he has two people who sign for him. they switch half way into the lecture. and the hand signs are probably the single most distracting thing in the class. also the most confusing as well since you have to think in reverse to provide the correct direction for whoever you're talking to. the two ladies are pretty quick in their interpretations considering all the stupid technical jargon to go through because for every word that doesn't have a hand sign, you've got to spell it out. greek letters are slightly more interesting since you're supposed to form the shapes with your fingers.
so far i have seen blind, deaf and waist down paralysis with an awesome wheelchair. i think mute is probably the last on the list.
