It just occured to me that when you put a name in brackets at the beginning of a sentence in brackets, it can look like that whole line is a quote, rather than a correction or clarification of a previous line. I'm so used to quotes beginning with , like pretty much every IRC client does. This explains a lot of what just happens. Fuck fuck fuck. This is like finding out you've mistakenly transferred the contents of your £20 bank account to a random person, then an hour later discovering you actually had your entire life savings in there.
