A quick "Small World" story:
I tried to go to the Cape Coral library on Saturday, but I wasn't aware that they close at 6 on Saturdays.
So it was about 6:15 and I walked up and a short, stocky, Jack-Ruby-looking man was sitting on a bench and told me that the library was closed. Then he asked if he could use my cellphone. He called some Massachusetts area code, and told someone he'd meet them at the Wal-Mart right down the road. He started walking and I got in my car and went home.
About 3 and a half hours later whoever was at that number called me and asked for Donny. I told them that I didn't know Donny, I had just let him use my phone at the library.
Anyway. Monday afternoon I saw Donny walking down Colonial Blvd., in front of Family Thrift in Fort Myers with a toaster oven under his arm. I had last seen him about 32 hours earlier, also on foot, about 12 miles away. The strangest thing is that I even recognized the guy.
