Past Present

The Persian King held nothing back
As he crossed the boundary set by immortal Zeus.
Some would call this hybris, but not me.
He held nothing back.
Very easily could have stayed in the safety of his known world.
Just as easily could have risked nothing.
He took all he had and laid it on the line.
He risked everything, and sure he lost.
But he had a better chance of success
Than if he sat in his room read till the day he died.
