But there is one among the Kraken who's wit shines forth as the most talented by far. This is the Mimic Octopus, Thaumoctopus Mimicus, that being possessed not only the ability to take on the visual aspect of a variety of creatures, also has the intelligence to act like them, and to judge which act is most useful in a given situation....
For sooth! When hiding in its hole, the mimic octupus takes on the disguise of a deadly Hammer Shrimp!
Now! should it decide to go for a swim along the sea floor, it will assume the aspect of the subtle flounder!
But, finding itself in open water, it becomes the formidable lion fish! (this one is more evident in the way it moves)
when confronted by an enemy, it judges the species of it's foe and chooses an appropriate defence, it may look really menacing and evil, play dead (the arrow points at the watching eye!), or sinking into its hole, combine two arms into a venomous sea snake!
It has many other disguises! eel, brittlestar, and other indescribable things!
