Okay, so I think we agree on everything except the Lust Arc, right? So I'm just going to talk about that, but this is just my point of view, other Ichigo/Orihime shippers may see it differently (if you do, feel free to butt in!)

I don't think helped is the right word for what The Lust did for them but, likewise, I don't think destroyed is either. To me, it just indicated how far Ichigo is willing to go to protect her, that he would be willing to throw away his humanity to make sure that she is safe. Now there is no denying that Ichigo is ashamed of the fact that he turned into a Hollow and there is no denying that Orihime regrets being the reason behind him turning into a Hollow, however they were both able to move past this and establish the relationship that they currently have, which shows me that their bond is a lot stronger than some people give them credit for. And, to me at least, The Lust was indicative of Ichigo's dedication to Orihime, whose feelings are the only ambiguous ones in this relationship ( ... )

Even though I already support them, this was a great reminder why. <3

To answer your original comment, I luffs them so much, I just want to write and write about them, hurhur. XD

And thank you! Re-reading the manga reminded me why as well. ♥

Just read it and I have to say brava. I found myself smiling at some of the scenes you linked to LOL but I do agree with every word you're saying. IchixHime's relationship is like none other in the manga, and IMHO, the only thing missing with them is Ichigo's romantic love for Orihime. Judging from what we've gotten with them, it's not too far away.

Again, awesome job and an excellent read. *claps*

I'm glad you liked it, thanks for reading! ♥

Aghhh, great stuff! You were so very thorough and you proved your point very well with a lot of evidence. (Things that the best, truest essays are made out of!)

I think I literally went through almost every scene they were in together, LOL. But it's because they are so precious when they're together! XD

The thing about Eagle Without Wings and Eagle(s) With Wings:

The alternate name for the star Hikoboshi is Altair - also known as the Flying Eagle or Winged Eagle. Orihime/Vega is also called the Falling Eagle or, as Kubo phrased it, an eagle without wings.

I think it's significant that Kubo titled the chapter where Orihime goes missing after her star, and the chapter where Ichigo, Chad, and Ishida decide to go rescue her after Altair. Except in this case, all three of them are Altair, judging from the plural in the title.

The titles repeat later when Ichigo goes into FKT - I think in that context, he was the Eagle Without Wings and all the shinigami fighting for him were his Altair ( ... )

Thanks so much for explaining that! I've linked this comment in the body of the essay so everybody else can read it, too. =)

And yes, I figured it was time for an update since they've grown so much since the last one was written. ^.~ Thanks for reading! ♥

Hee, thank you! I think there's a mention of that on FLOL too, in one of ED's essays.

As others have said, I liked that you didn't overhype anything here - you just stated bare facts without having to spin them or tell anyone how to read. People should be free to make their own interpretations, and this essay does allow for that. And I think that's great!

I was going to link the list of essays and manifestos here but the entry got too big. =( Hopefully people will check it out when they check out FLOL anyway.

And thank you very much, I definitely agree! ♥ /hugs

Oh, and you're welcome! Thank you for taking the time to explain it to me. ^^
