Rethinking Ancient Matters

Aug 20, 2011 18:27

This is just me thinking out loud. Just ignore it :P

1. What are some reasons why Jaejoong, Junsu, and Yoochun would invest in a cosmetics company?

A) They were unhappy with their pay and saw it as an opportunity to bring in more cash. I mean, who wouldn't make money especially if you're so busy being a pop star it's not like you have time to exactly pick up a part time job at a cafe. All they'd have to do is show up to a meeting like...once a year and maybe slap their faces on a poster or two. This is far from the money hungry greedy dogs that people seem to be hyping nowadays.

B) They wanted to break into a more business side of things. They're all grown men most likely accumulating a fair amount of cash. When that happens, why wouldn't someone invest some of their money? All the adults I know are investing in something!

C) Their parents told them to? Idk, I felt like I needed at least three options.

2. What are some reasons Changmin and Yunho wouldn't invest?

A) They were happy with the amount of income they were receiving. After all, it probably wouldn't have been any less than any other SM artists. I would say BoA or Kangta might get paid more but it's not like they're promoting songs every other month. They are, however, shareholders in SM so that means they'd be getting money regardless, right? But compared to SuJu, Shinee, SNSD, ect. were probably making less than DBSK whether it be because of the amount of members the money had to be split more or one group simply just might not sell as much as the other.

B) Although they might not have been completely satisfied with their amount of income, their popularity was growing overseas so they'd expect at least a little more to be coming in. Even so, they wouldn't have been so unhappy with it that they'd feel the need to get clearance from SM to conduct their own financial activities.

C) Their parents didn't want them to. Either them or their parents might have not been fully comfortable investing in some random Chinese cosmetics company even if Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu had done their homework on the place.

D) The two of them knew something about the cosmetics company that the other three did not.

3. Why would SM grant Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu permission to invest in this cosmetics company, but then later say that they were no longer allowed to invest in it?

A) They're wishy-washy and never liked the three to begin with and thought it would be funny. (not likely)

B) SM found out more about the cosmetics company and didn't like what they found.

C) The three of them withheld some information from SM regarding the details of their investment.

D) The three of them did something regarding the investment that was outside of what they told SM in the beginning of the investment deal.

4. If Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu were unhappy with their contracts, why didn't they say anything whenever they reviewed the contracts?

A) They figured that even if they expressed disappointment, SM wouldn't do anything about it.

B) They did express disappointment but SM was too dense to sense it.

C) They're passive agressive. Yoochun's untitled song shows his growing disappointment with SM. It seems like these instances happened more frequently once they started activities in Japan. It seems like a lot of kpop groups nowadays often become somewhat disillusioned once they launch activities in Japan for a long enough time. Whether it is because of the treatment they receive there or because of the larger amount of money they make there simply do to the different economies or a combination of the two is uncertain.

5. When SM wanted Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu to come to the table to make a compromise, why didn't they comply?

A) They knew SM would twist it so that nothing would've changed from how things were before.

B) They were dead set on getting out of SM. From the 6.25 meeting a little over a month before, the separation JaeChunSu had from HoMin was already painfully obvious. So SM wanting to compromise didn't really matter at the time because no matter what it was either we get out or things keep continuing as they already were.

C) They were convinced that if they left SM, they could at least continue with Avex...but in an interview Junsu said that they even contemplated a situation where they would never be able to sing again so obviously they didn't fully rely on their Avex plan.

6. Why does Jaejoong express how he wants to be with Yunho and Changmin again and would be open for compromise if SM stepped forward now when he didn't back when the lawsuit first started?

A) Yunho and Changmin are some of his best friends, why wouldn't he want to be with them?

B) Life post-lawsuit wasn't going as he expected it would...which doesn't really make sense since he was prepared to never be able to sing again...still, life is pretty hard.

C) Change of heart? Or maybe now he just has a better idea of what he wants when in the beginning he just knew that he wasn't happy in SM and anything would be better than staying there. Now he could approach them with more of a solid ideal.

7. How could Changmin and Yunho not have known what JaeChunSu were planning?

A) Well, with KARA's situation, the two left out of the plan were completely surprised as well. So either both groups are lying or those apartments are more spacious than we imagine!

B) Maybe JaeChunSu discussed it first amongst themselves and assumed HoMin wouldn't be up for it. They could've asked them about it at one point but HoMin probably declined. When people hear that Yunho said that he didn't know about the lawsuit: the day JaeChunSu revealed their plans to him and the day their plans were revealed to the general public were most likely very far apart on the calendar.

C) HoMin rejected the idea early on in its inception so JaeChunSu just kinda rolled along without them.

8. Why is SM persuing JaeChunSu so consistantly while Hangeng was let go relatively easily.

A) Hangeng isn't really targeting the Japanese or Korean market. He's a Chinese artist and although SM holds events in China, the activities there don't even compare to that of the activites in Korea or Japan.

B) Hangeng was one of 13. JaeChunSu were three of five.

C) Hangeng had a better argument than JaeChunSu.

D) SM and JaeChunSu know something that we don't know.

9. Why would JaeChunSu be unhappy with the way SM was treating them and satisfied with the way Avex was treating them seeing as how the companies are so closely linked.

A) Avex has more consideration for its artists.

B) Avex runs things a little bit differently than SM. They're business partners, nothing else.

C) They like Japan better than Korea. (not likely)

10. Does Avex eventually cutting JaeChunSu loose and Changmin rejecting Matsuura's handshake way back in 2009 have any connection?

A) It's possible but not likely that Changmin could see something about the company that others hadn't at the time.

B) No, they are completely seperate issues. Changmin has a short temper and Avex is SM's number one whore.

11. Why did so many SM artists smacktalk Junsu after he went on that chain of sensitive tweets?

I don't really have a bunch of choices for this one. It's not like SM artists are following Junsu on twitter. They would've had to go out of their way to even see that the tweets even happened. Netizens? From the way Junsu was speaking at the time, it sounded almost like he had met someone from SM recently, had an argument, then ranted on twitter. I don't see why so many artists would be so hostile unless something went down that we didn't know of. Maybe JaeChunSu are just on bad terms with SM artists nowadays? Still a little fishy. Even when HoMin started going on TV shows they didn't have very many nice things to say either. So either SM has a stronger grip on their artists than I thought or both sides are withholing some key facts and/or events.

So no matter how many times i look things up and down, things just don't add up. Someone or everyone has not been 100% truthful in the realm of the public eye, no? Leave a comment if you have any extra info to somehow ease my confusion!
