The Hunger Season 2 was pulled from instant play after I finished what amounts to the first disk. Irritating. But I won't miss the intro.
I finished Bleak House the miniseries, pretty good stuff but they missed the Scottish song and added the Raggle Taggle Gypsy song. It was a good version although I have a good 3 or 4 at least. Catherine Tate was in the thing as a friggin' pious woman- completely serious and dour. Weird.
Then I watched Samurai Princess, which is special. Based on some anime I assume and therefor insane. It was like a live action disney movie done by the people who do the saw movies. Sort of not really. There was intense violence followed by cute or touching scenes. Very strange. The strangest weapon was probably one cyborg's breasts which she removed and threw. There was cg blood and 80s style lightning- a very weird and cheap group of effects. It's hard to comment on the acting because it was dubbed and they were playing anime characters. Definitely hard to get into and not necessarily worth the journey. But it's hard to say if it was actually worth less than three stars. It was fairly entertaining, but it wasn't quality, but it wasn't painful...
I'm not sure I'll probably rate it less than three stars. Bleak house gets 3 for not impressing me, but being good entertainment anyway. I'm not sure how to rate Hunger. I liked the other host better than David Bowie. His intros were much more interesting and that added a lot to the show. David Bowie has some odd plot line in his intros running through, and I don't like it. The flexibility of season one was much more interesting. I think I would recommend if you were interested and didn't want to watch the Hunger, to watch the beginning and end of each episode with the narrator of season 1.
I don't think it's the goblin king's fault that his parts are boring, the problem is they've written him into a world and kept him there. meh.
