Birth control

I've had some difficulties recently with my oral contraceptives and would like some more information about other forms of birth control, specifically IUDs.

Does anyone know of any good doctors in Tokyo? Especially if they take national insurance.

Regardless of what doctor you go to contraceptives are not covered by National Insurance. So just go to any 婦人科 and they will tell you how much they charge for IUD after doing the intial visit, around 5000 yen because your visit will be for the purpose of contraception. I go to 美しが丘ウイメンズクリニック http://www.utukushigaoka1234.com/ and when I asked about pricing, just curious about IUD, they said it was 4man for the device then the insertion fee. Probably around 6-7man total. But I didn't find out how long their IUDs were for as it's not doable for me upfront and my OC works just fine that I get from there. Looking around online, specifically at places like http://www.hinin.info/ this is average pricing. So it's best to just go to a clinic near you and consult with them as all clinics are different on what they will/won't do. Some require you to come every month for an appointment to get the pill, mine doesn't and let's me get up to 6 months at a time, though I only ever get 3 since it is 3000 yen a month. Still rather cheap though considering the alternative of even an early stage abortion costing 7manish. ^^
