Hi.
I'll go to Tokyo next October as a long-term student, and I'm making preparations for my stay in Japan.
Now I have to decide about the Health Insurance. The obligatory one of the school is valid only during lessons time, so I was thinking about a second one. The school suggested me to enter the National Health Insurance, but it covers only the 70% of the costs (and I was told it's only for emergency, and not, for example if I'll need to be visited by a dentist etc. but I'm not sure if it's true or not).
My other option would be a private Insurance. I can make a travelers insurance by a company of my country (which I would have to make before leaving for Japan), but I don't know if maybe a Japanese one would be cheaper.
So my questions are:
-Is it possible with a student visa to have a private health insurance?
-How much (more or less) could it be?
Thank you.
