Hello everyone! I'm Ivy, and I'm in Kyoto for a year as an exchange student. I'm from Vancouver, Canada, so I never really had a problem with mosquito bites. But two days ago, I had an orientation session for my university which lasted until approximately 8pm, and as the weather was hot, I was wearing shorts. On that night alone, I was bitten by mosquitoes a total of 12 times! =(
Yesterday, all the bites became swollen and around the bites themselves, the skin was all red. Also, the centres of the bites are yellow and stick out, presumably filled with liquid. I'm pretty sure that the bites have been infected, and they itch a lot, and even hurt sometimes. I've been using a cream that my friend lent me (she brought it from China), which I put on the bites to soothe the itchiness, but since she is getting mosquito bites as well, I don't want to use up all of the cream.
I was wondering if anyone has recommendations on what to use on mosquito bites that I can get easily (at a drugstore, without needing a doctor's written permission)? Also, what do you suggest me use if I want to prevent getting more mosquito bites in the future? I live in Kinugasa near Kinkakuji, if that helps.
Thank you so much!
