Hello:
I'll be coming to Kyoto for the
Jerome Rothenberg reading/lecture on the evening of March 22. I'll be arriving in Kyoto the morning of the 22nd, and am looking for ways to amuse myself until the talk. I've lived in Japan for years, and have been to Kyoto several times, so off-the-beaten-track temples, shops, cafes, hikes, mountains, walks, etc. are what I'm looking for.
Also, my wife will be joining me in Kyoto on March 23, and we'd like to go out for a niceish dinner that evening. Any suggestions from those in the know will be gratefully received. (We're omnivores: any type of cuisine is okay: Japanese, French, Italian, veggie, meat . . . so long as it's good.)
Thanks for your help.
