a few questions..

Hey everyone, I've been watching this community for a long time, and only recently joined a few months ago when I found out I was moving to Japan with my boyfriend. So now I am about 4 days away from my move to Tokyo and I have a few questions I'm hoping the community can answer..

1) I am planning on looking for a job teaching english when I arrive.. and I'm wondering if anyone can give me info on looking for a job on foot. Where are there recruiting offices that I can just walk in and apply?

2) Does anyone know any Japanese brands that are vegan (that make things like shampoo, toothpaste, face wash and other things like that).. Or do you know anything I can look for on a label that would specify that something is vegan?

3) I also have a question about hair dryers and curling irons.. Should I be buying new ones when I get to Japan, or can I use my US ones (like with a transformer)?

Thanks a lot!

EDIT:
Thanks everyone for all your advice.. We have been in Japan for about a day and so far so good. We ate a delicious vegan meal at Mos Burger, and we are very excited to check out some other vegan establishments in Tokyo (which we plan to stick to until our Japanese is good enough to communicate our needs properly to non-vegan places). We are also keeping a blog about our trip, so if you are interested in reading about our experiences as vegans in Japan please check out my personal journal for the URL (I don't want to completely blatantly advertise..)

Thanks again!!
