Hiyaa!
I heard about this nifty spot on the web when it was featured as a spotlight. ^-^ During that time I hadn't moved to Japan yet, so I've finally joined now!! I've been referencing this community tons and find it uberly useful.~ I hope everyone is doing well!!

Sooo, a bit about myself and the reason why I'm in Japan. Unlike the majority of foreigners in Japan, I'm a High School Student :D attending an International School. "Expat's Child" Not a diplomat's child, or a ambassadors daughter, but your typical Japanese Business Man's daughter. My perspective of this strange country through the eyes of being Japanese (my mom's Taiwanese), but the fact of treatment wise when you have a Japanese surname and.. you look well, asian, and you aren't talented enough to speak Japanese. D:

I'm fully american bred, yaay USA. USA Passport and I've grown up in the States + Taiwan. So, I'm not so much culture-shocked, but I do miss the surbia land of suburban states lifeee. ^^; I really don't understand the fasination in Japan, prolly since..it's not all that new to me. Given I've been in the country tons of times since I was infant. There's so many flaws and screwed up things in this society, far more than I can name.(Their deep embedded culture of evil) ...I'm sure most of you find that a bit radicallish..but it's true, the Japanese aren't as great as you think. And there're great all the same, and individuals, etcetc. "Omg so sterotypical", just general gist. However that's the ups and downs of any society. I love this place as well!!

So, I'm currently learning the best I can! Just like all of you~  But it's hard...D:

Ahh, that was a bit messy,,  ^^;;

Nice meeting you all~~

living in japan, culture shock
