New to LJ
Hi everyone,
Just thought I'd introduce myself as I'm new to Live Journal and expats.
I'm from Ottawa, Canada originally, but am now living in New Zealand with my kiwi husband of three and a half months. We met at an on line book website about 4 years ago, when I was still in Canada and he was here, then we met in person about six months after that, when we both went to South Korea to teach English. I thought that things might work out and I'd date this guy for a year before I headed home, but he took hold of my hand the first time we came face to face, and there really was no looking back!
As I say, we've been married for almost four months now. We married here in New Zealand because it was an impossibility for any of his family members to fly to Canada. My parents and my sister made it down here for the wedding, and that was the first time in about four years that I've seen my own family.
Right now we're content to stay here, but we're leaving the door open for moving back to the Northern Hemisphere.
Anyway, it's really nice to have a place to go to and chat when you're feeling homesick or need advice about living as an expat. I hope to meet some of the members here and strike up a friendship or two as well. I'd love to hear from anyone who wants to talk, especially expat Canadians or expats living in Aussie or NZ.
