Did anyone else experience culture shock last night with their New Years Eve?
I spent New Years in Den Haag in The Netherlands and it was the craziest thing I've ever experienced. Fireworks going all day but then at midnight just a huge outpouring of noise, lights, and smoke! And it kept on going! Oh, and the gigantic bon fires in the middle of the street! I was completely shocked because I've never seen anything like this before. Maybe it's because I'm from BC Canada and we're tamer, I'm not exactly sure... but I couldn't believe everything that happened last night! I'm just wondering what everyone else's experiences were in other places
