i haven't made a real entry since may. whoops. i should start using lj more again. i love my twitter and tumblr, but i like having more of a record of my ~feelings and thoughts or whatever. also my dumb face, see above.
i saw ludo AND aziz ansari last week. best week ever? quite possibly.
how about some tv talk? always relevant, right?
this season of true blood was, overall, a big disappointment for me. while i enjoyed some of the earlier episodes quite a bit, it all lost steam for me about halfway through and the finale was just a complete letdown.
i realize the books this show is based on are by no means great literature, but i've honestly enjoyed almost all of them, and as someone who really, really liked club dead (the third book and the one this season was theoretically [but not actually] based on), i haaaaated how far the show strayed from the plot of the book. yes, there were elements of the story that made it to HBO, but so much of what i liked about club dead was missing. in the books, alcide is my second-favorite sookie suitor, so i hated seeing him reduced to such a bit part. in the books, sookie stakes lorena on her own, without any help from bill or anyone, and it's awesome. (then again, in the show, lorena is awesome, so when she gets staked it sucks.) in the books, club dead (lou pine's, on the show) isn't a dumb-ass trashy biker bar, it's a fairly normal bar that caters exclusively to supernatural creatures and is way more interesting for it. and claudine (who iirc doesn't actually show up until book 4) is fucking awesome in the books and fierce and sexy and passes for human. i imagined her being played by tricia helfer. she does not frolic around by a sparkly pool all the goddamn time.
and as someone who completely fangirlishly OTPs eric/sookie in the books, man, was this season a bummer. sure, they threw in some E/S on the show, but it always seemed forced, whereas by the end of book 3 they've had a few rather intimate moments and are just...ugh, so much better! :(
stuff i loved this season was mostly franklin (i know he was terrible but goddamn he was entertaining), russell, pretty much any scene of eric and pam together, and hoyt/jessica. otherwise, mostly meh. i hope tara never comes back. i hated jason's storyline. i didn't mind sam's stuff with his family but hated everything from his sawyer flashback/drunken rages on. blah blah a thousand times blah! i used to fangirl this show so hard!!!! :(

as for GOOD shows about vampires, goddamn do i love the vampire diaries!!!! caroline as a vampire makes me ridiculously happy -- they had better not fucking kill her like they do to every other vamp on the show whose last name isn't salvatore. >:O i want her and jessica from TB to have a show together where they're just adorable and awesome and bite people.
bonnie, on the other hand, can diaf. i don't know how much of it is the writing and how much is the actress (it's definitely a combination of both) but i cannot stand her sour little face and her constant "vampires are the worst! gtfo!" attitude. i understand that her grandmother died and it was because of vampires, and i understand that she's seen vamps (especially damon) do despicable things. i don't begrudge her feeling that way, and yet the way she expresses her feelings makes me want to punch her in the tit. stfu!
nina as elena/katherine is just fabulous. while i'm totally okay with elena/stefan, elena/katherine is hotttt! so hard to believe that it's the same actress having like 10000x the chemistry with paul wesley. (i also was kind of shipping stefan/caroline in that scene in the bathroom at the carnival. rawr.)
ian somerhalder is just made of hot, and i enjoy damon so much that i don't even really have anything to say about him. love!
i don't care about the lockwoods, but i don't mind them so whatever. ditto jeremy, most of the time.

SONSSSS OF ANARCHYYYYY! SHOW! SHOW OF MY HEART!
i was so sad when they killed off hale. i thought he made a fantastic counterpoint to jax and i just liked that he was a legitimately good man -- he was against SAMCRO but i never could hate him for it. i really thought he had SO much potential as a character. i honestly have no idea why they killed him off -- i wonder if he wanted out, a la johnny lewis? hmm.
when gemma finds out about abel she is going to lose her fucking mind. i am both dreading and anticipating that day like whoa.
charlie hunnam is made of gorgeous. js.
jax and tara are such an incredibly well-written couple. snaps to kurt sutter for keeping them real and interesting without breaking them up every ten minutes. it's rare to see a couple on tv who are functional(ish) and who actually TALK about their issues and are just, y'know, awesome. ♥
so since the irish killed cameron, are they going to give abel back? or just keep him hidden? i can never understand like half of what they're saying, lol. :(
ahhhhh, it's so good to have chuck back! when i'm not watching it, i always forget just how happy it makes me. i'm definitely interested in the mama bartowski storyline (altho i still miss chuck's dad, *sniff*). and i about died when i realized it was the general sitting in the manager's chair at buy more (about one second before she spoke, hee). i didn't mind the lack of jeffster (altho i don't hate them like a lot of people seem to) but i would've liked to see awesome at some point.
oh, and morgan is my spirit animal. i love that little bearded bastard to pieces! XD
i have boardwalk empire on my DVR but haven't gotten to watch it yet -- i probably will sometime today. ditto lone star and hawaii 5-0. new shows! \o/
i also really liked HIMYM last night. i didn't hate last season as much as i guess everyone else did(?), tho. but yeah, i thought it was a cute episode and i loved the stuff w/ rachel bilson.
OH ALSO HOW AMAZING IS THE MCR TRAILER?!?!?! FABULOUS KILLJOYS!
