i would like to talk about true blood. there will be spoilers, obviously, and for the books as well.

gah. i have been, like, OBSESSING over this show for the past few days. well, i mean, i always obsess over it, but it's reached a fever pitch since i watched the last few eps.
first of all, i would like to talk about ERIC. (shocking.)
before i say anything else, just let me get this shallow shit out of the way: NAKED ASKARS NAKED ASKARS NAKED ASKARS \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ WOW I REALLY APPROVE A LOT. YOU POP MY FANGS, SIR.
as jacob (who is still my nemesis but whose ridiculous meandering recaps i have always loved) said:
Eric is, by the way, so fucking naked it hurts. It's like looking at the sun. Sculpted, chiseled. Art. He laughs, stretching entire muscle groups like an anatomical model.
truth. also, if ever a television show needed to make with the full-frontal, it's true blood. generally i am not all that interested in seeing a dude's cock, because frankly, they're not that pretty, but i would like very much to get a look at the entirety of mr. skarsgard. i watched both of sookie's sexy eric dreams a lot of times. like...a lot of times.
ok, i'm calm now. so, eric. the stuff with godric killed me, obviously. it was so sad, because eric's been so single-mindedly trying to save godric all season. and then he finally found him, and saved him, and he was starting to be eric again, he was getting that twinkle back in his eye, and then godric, it turns out, doesn't want to be saved. he wants to burn. the scene with eric and godric on the roof, with eric sobbing and begging godric to change his mind, to stay...god. the only thing more touching were the moments that came after, when sookie and godric talked about god. i cried just like sookie did. that entire rooftop scene was perfection, i thought.
also, eric-wise, i loved the bullet-sucking, and i loved that they made it funny. because it IS funny, and it's gross, like sookie said. but his face was amazing, and then when she was screaming at him and he's all "y'know, bill, i think i CAN sense her emotions," bwahaha.
as i mentioned, i liked sookie's dreams. ahem. when he popped fang in the second dream, and she ran her fingers over them and his eyes went all dreamy...rawr.
i'm really curious where alan ball is planning on going with all of this. i'm all about sookie/eric in the books, and i've been dying to see dead to the world play out. i think it's interesting that in sookie's dreams about eric, he's much more like DttW!eric than normal eric. the conversation in her first dream reminded me of them in dttw; just lounging around together, making pillow talk. i do wonder if once she sees eric again as himself, if she'll be disappointed that he's not the more cuddly eric of her dreams, and how that will affect her if DttW does play out and she gets that dream!eric back. i'm rambling, but i'm just really curious, i guess.
also, i wonder if it will occur to sookie, as it has to me, that she had bill's blood only a day or two after meeting him, and she had quite a bit of it. does that make her feelings toward eric just as valid as her feelings for bill? i'm wondering if the blood bond thing from the books (it takes three exchanges, right? or just her having the vamp's blood three times?) is going to be relevant on the show, or if they've decided one drink is enough. and is lafayette secretly having sexy eric dreams, too? or does there have to be some kind of attraction beforehand? because sookie totally always had that "lady doth protest too much" thing going with eric, i think.
ok, moving on. hoyt and jessica! is he going to stake her? i will cry forever if he ends up having to stake her. they've been so precious and perfect together and i'm afraid it means one or both of them are bound to die. :( also, HELLO HOYT'S ARMS! those are good arms to have.
lafayette!!!!! i don't really have anything specific to say about him, i just love him to itty bitty pieces so i wanted to exclaim his name.
i'm glad tara is back to normal. i don't really care about her all that much, but i like her much more as herself than i do as freaky black-eyed tara, so yay.
I WANT MARYANN TO GTFO. words cannot express how much i do not care about her. i think michelle forbes is fucking fabulous, but i'm really over this storyline in a big way.
however, it did get me sam in only an apron, which was A+

JASON FUCKING STACKHOUSE. god, i love everything about what's been going on with him over the past few episodes. i love that he realized that he's on sookie's side, i love that he's trying SO HARD to be more and to be better, i love that used his soldiers of the sun training to fight real evil and defend the people he loves and the town that's his home. however, just like i'm worried for hoyt and jess, i'm vaguely worried for him. i don't THINK he's going to die because afaik the whole hotshot storyline is supposed to play out on the show, but still. when characters on tv get redemption arcs, i get nervous.
this all got a little teal deer; my apologies. i actually could totally keep going, but i have a few things to do so i have to wrap it up.

mtv is planning a remake of skins to be set in baltimore. my disapproval cannot be textually rendered. :((((((( btw, if i upload the REAL skins, would people want it? if you've ever enjoyed any sort of teen dramas, i highly highly recommend it. it's SO good. the cast is fantastic, the show is beautifully shot, the writing is outstanding, the music is amazing, etc etc. total love.
