[To be entirely frank, Heather hates Violet City's guts. Seriously, Violet City can just go screw itself, man. ... But she's back there anyway. For reasons that managed to outweigh the bad memories that these streets held.]
[... But even violent, irrational hatred towards a large cluster of buildings won't stop her from roaming around and re-learning the land!]
[Which is why she happens to be walking by with her hands in her pockets around the same time that Coraline is making a Terrible Discovery (tm).]
... Huh?
[... Oh, it's that kid with the turble! ... whoa, she looks wigged.]
[Maaaaybe it'd be a good idea to head over and see what's up.]
[Action]exp_loralineFebruary 19 2011, 17:40:08 UTC
[When Heather approaches, the first to respond is, naturally, the turble! The always-curious Trapinch toddles over toward Heather. HAY, HEATHAR, HAY.
Meanwhile, Coraline drops the 'gear to her side, tilting her head and frowning at her displeased Golbat.] What am I gonna do with you...? [Beat.] If I find out you've been snacking on your teammates--
Golbat gol! [He did no such thing! Teammates are friends, not food! Coraline gives an exasperated sigh and turns around to question the rest of the team, finding Turble waddling over to a familiar face.]
Oh... Uh, hey! [She waves halfheartedly. Heather, her giant bat might be a murderer halp.]
[Action] SOB SO LATEfoolishwrenFebruary 22 2011, 07:48:18 UTC
[Well wouldja look at that!]
[Quirking a grin, Heather bends down as the antlion Pokemon trundles on over, giving it a pat on the head that's tentative at first but turns confident, assuming she doesn't get her hand nipped.]
Heeeey, little-- uh, bug thing. [W-was it a boy or a girl? She didn't remember. ANYWAY.]
[Straightening up again, she offers a reasonably bright smile and a wave to Coraline.]
Hey, 'sup? ... Having trouble with your-- ... um. [She pauses for a second to take in the magnificence that is Golbat.] ... giant, winged mouth?
[Action] YOU ARE NOT. DON'T WORRY-- I AM SLOW LIKE MOLASSES. <3exp_loralineFebruary 22 2011, 09:12:11 UTC
[Turble is a friendly Trapinch! She just sort of... wiggles a little excitedly and promptly scurries off to hide in the snow. She's... an odd one.
Coraline straightens up, placing her hands on her hips and scowling perplexedly.] Well, uh... Not really, I mean... [And, right on cue, Dingbat flutters over to his trainer for an OBVIOUSLY FRIENDLY HUG, engulfing her in his wings, slitted eyes settled warily on Heather.
Coraline's real answer comes in one word from somewhere in those folded wings:] Ithinkhemightwanttoeatme.
[Action] I WILL NEVAR MIND.exp_loralineFebruary 23 2011, 22:22:57 UTC
[Dingbat continues to JUDGE YOU as Coraline sort of... climbs her way out of his folded wings enough to shake her head.] I think I would've been, like... drained of blood if he did. He's usually nice enough, anyway-- acts more like a dog than a bat. [Hence, the protectiveness.]
Which is why I didn't really think about this happening, I guess... [Le sigh.]
[Action]exp_loralineFebruary 24 2011, 19:51:33 UTC
Heh, yeah, but... I'd rather not be, you know... terrified of my self-defense system at the same time. [She doesn't sound very terrified though. Just... concerned and worried. For her own team and the Pokemon of others.
Meanwhile, that Golbat's stare is gradually getting less intense. Pokemon seem to be pretty empathic toward trainers, so he's... starting to get the hint. A few moments later, he opens his wings. Suddenly lacking the wings to cling to, into the snow Coraline goes!]
[She's kind of grinning, though-- because as creepy as that thing is, she's pretty sure it's not gonna eat its trainer if it hasn't already.]
[Still, she'll be keeping her distance. Because SHE doesn't really feel like ending up on the menu, and she's not entirely sure that Mr. Bat won't BITE her if she tries to help the younger girl up.]
[Action]exp_loralineFebruary 25 2011, 03:13:55 UTC
[Facedown in the snow:] Yyyyup.
Gol gol... [And Ding promptly flutters off to join the rest of the team. Coraline pushes herself to her feet, following the Golbat with her eyes and brushing chunks of ice from her jeans.] ... Well, I'll... figure something out... [In other words, she'll go ask Nurse Joy or something.
She turns to Heather again, clasping her hands behind her and offering a grin.] Uh, it's good to see you outside of the 'gear and all! [What is having manners.]
[Heather's own gaze follows the Bigmouth With Wings, as well. Creepy stuff... if those things looked just a little less whimsical, she could see something like that existing in the Otherworld.]
[But in any case, she turns back to Coraline with a broad smile and extends a hand. PUT 'ER THERE.]
Yeah! Have to admit, never thought I'd be coming back to this place, but hey. Cool to meetcha.
[Action] Oh geez I have been so bad at tagging the last few days. ;n;exp_loralineFebruary 27 2011, 22:44:49 UTC
[She returns the smile and promptly shakes her hand.] Yeah, you too! [Friends with an older kid? Johto is officially magical.]
But... Yeah, you were ahead of me, weren't you? [Beat.] What're you doing back here anyway? You gonna challenge that gym leader guy? [She hadn't yet decided if she wanted to herself yet.]
[Action] D: It's okay man I think we at least suck equally. /TAGS ABYSMALLY SLOWfoolishwrenFebruary 28 2011, 23:58:48 UTC
[Heather had one of those firm TOUGH KID grips, but she loosens it up for the sake of Coraline's smaller hands.]
Er-- yeah, heh. Never thought I'd be coming back here, but there were some things I had to take care of.
... The gym bein' one of them.
[GDAMMIT FALKNER WHY WERE YOU SO HARD TO BEAT THE FIRST TIME AROUND.]
Couldn't just keep on going without getting that puppy to put on my collar, you know? [Bugsy and Whitney's badges already gleamed from the collar of Heather's coat-- but it was kind of weird to have the second and third badges without the first...]
[Heather didn't buy into that stuff... perhaps she should have. But the commonly-touted idea that collecting all the badges would magically send them home, like they were in a friggin' video game or something, just struck her as absurd. She shakes her head.]
As far as I can tell, they're just... what people do here. I mean, you're from Earth, right? We've got all kinds of stuff like that back home-- it's stuff to do and some people are like, super obsessed with it, but it's not like when you get them all, balloons and ticker tape are gonna fall from the ceiling and someone will drape a sash that says 'GO HOME' around you.
... Or maybe they will. I dunno.
But anyway, it's just a sport.
Like the Super Bowl.
[Except without a bunch of sweaty guys running around and throwing balls at things-- ..... wait.]

Like you have to collect them all. [She had a collector streak, like most kids-- mainly little insects, seeds, and a few shells. As for badges...]
Do you... think those badge things are as important as everyone here makes them sound?
