You know, seeing the three together in concert is indeed thrilling - if anything, since I've been unfortunate to only know about them just before their lawsuit, I haven't been through an experience in seeing one of their concert performances unveil before me in the present. So it was indeed exciting; however, I felt a little touch of sadness too.
Though I haven't been a long fan like you, I've seen what I could of them from 2003 to the present, and I have been just awestruck at the combination of these five men, and truly learned to appreciate the richness each brought to the group. I see Shinhwa, G.O.D., and H.O.T. go their separate ways and it just wonderful to see how they still support each other. And I can't help feeling deeply saddened that the more time Changmin and Yunho is apart from Jaejoong, Junsu and Yoochun, the harder it'll be for them to be like that as well.
I mean, seeing through the media all the trials and tribulations they've gone through, as overly-hyped they may have been to some people eyes, they can't deny the energy and effort they put forth to live up to those expectations. They've shown heart by baring probably truly grueling schedules in trying to maintain a top position in the Korean music scene or gaining a foothold in the Japanese market. I've followed other groups but DBSK is tops in my admiration for their gumption and efforts to not only satisfy their fans but their own standards as singers and entertainers.
I thought or rather hoped that all five would eventually reflect on the struggles they've gone together and finally reach an understanding, at least outside of the SME lawsuit if not something that would end the lawsuit; something that would bring them together again where even if they still decide to go their separate ways, it would be with support for each other.
So, in seeing JYJ sing "W" where it's a love song stating that they will wait for Yunho & Changmin, I couldn't help feeling that it would actually make it harder for them to do so. As much as it is a song about reconciliation, the new song, the concert, the promotions, and so on, seemed that the three are actually flying farther away.
Sorry for my rant in response to your rant. I’ve been feeling rather moody too and your words just seemed to trigger a wave of thoughts I haven’t really verbalized till now. I have my own opinions about the validity of the lawsuit, its effects and reactions towards the settlement offers, and I haven’t committed myself to one side of the fence (JYJ/DBSK), I just wanted to write back that you’re not alone with a heavy heart. I want all of them to truly reach the stars and be globally recognized but I agree, somehow the current path just doesn’t seem right…
I’ve loved your work and truly thank you for the subbing work you’ve done, for you have contributed to fostering my love for DBSK - so as far as discontinuing subbing if you don’t feel like it, I for one, do not begrudge you.(*^.^*)
Your response really hit a point that's been bugging the heck out of me. (and please do not misunderstand, i still love all 5 members so much and understand they each have their difficulties) but like you said, the three members are flying further away. Despite how they say they would like to keep all five together, releasing items, holding concerts, having meetings, all this pull JYJ away from HoMin. This thus makes the words "wanting to get back together" seem half-hearted (though i'm sure they want to be together). I just think if they wanted to get together no matter what, they would be focusing on that instead of other promotions. (again, not saying they don't want to be together)
plus it kind of bothers me how JYJ is singing about waiting for HoMin. As if waiting for HoMin to realize that they are wrong and should following JYJ... (not saying that's really what they are thinking since what do I know about what goes on in the boys' minds) I'm sure HoMin is waiting for JYJ too...
You know, it is kinda that way isn't it? I didn't realize till you said that, the song "W" is beautiful but at the same time it's like saying "come to us...we're the right way...the way to shine like the five stars of Cassiopeia..." I've been missing HoMin too, especially Minnie since he's hasn't really put himself out in the public eye yet...yeah, although I do feel that HoMin seems bitter towards JYJ, I bet they're missing JYJ too...

Again, sorry for the long reply...
