The Gods must have been smiling upon me. Better to be sick in bed, then deal with the foolish fools who let 'certain things' slip. Better for me, a handsome pirate was tending to me while ill. I feel better. And refuse to give in to the tense atmosphere this place has created.

Some greedy people from the place he was from stole his mother and used...her powers, something like that. He wants revenge on them. So he's not so trusting of humans, and...he gets a little hard to talk sense into, sometimes.

Vaan and he... They still posses very different personalities. Vaan is actually his own pirate. And you may eventually be joining his crew if you do not form your own in time.
