-Player Information-
Name: Lunare
LJ Username: saturate
Current Characters: N/A

-Character Information-
Name: Alice Elliot
Canon: Shadow Hearts; Mid-Game, directly after trading her soul in exchange for Yuri's.
Gender: 100% Lady.
Cell Phone: [LG ENVY]
Physical Description: [Skirt Poof]
Personality: Alice Elliot is a very gentle and demure young woman, much like what you'd expect from a catholic girl of the early 1900s, though with the added perk of holy powers. She is strong, in both heart and mind, and though, like everyone, she has her doubts, she always ends up better and stronger than before.

Though caring, and almost innocent, she is not naive, and she isn't quick to trust. Even Yuri, the man who had saved her, was privy to her timid distrust (though it didn't take long for her to see that, despite his occasional pervertedness, he was a good man). She doesn't assume, however, that everyone is out to use her; she's simply careful. It's better safe than sorry, after all, especially after the death of her father. Despite her cautiousness, she'll drop it all if it means helping someone in need, sometimes not even thinking of the dangers that may lie ahead her.

Alice isn't particularly social, and while she enjoys the company of others, she has no problem being by herself. She's quiet, and enjoys quiet. She is thoughtful, and intelligent, although there are times she'll act without thinking. She tends to be very polite, even to a point that her enemies tend to make mention of it.

Alice: Thanks, ma’am. It’s kind of you to let us stay, having just shown up in the middle of the night like this.

Mayor Lady: What a nice-mannered young lady. But you don’t have to worry
about your manners so much here. …For, it won’t change the taste of their
meat.

Despite how quiet she can be, that doesn't mean she'll let herself be walked on. She's known to have her outbursts, especially in stressful situations that don't look good. More than once she'll stomp her foot in frustration, usually because Yuri seems too calm or takes the situation as a joke. She isn't the bravest young woman, but you won't find her running and hiding when things get tough. She's a fighter, even if the only thing she may want to do is run.

The wonderful thing about tiggers Alice is that she cares deeply for those around her, so much so that she's more than willing to sacrifice her own life in their stead (as noted by the canonical ending of the game). She also has a motherly sense about her, and seems to enjoy taking care of the people around her. She's very pure of heart, and truly very kind.

Overall, Alice is what you might expect from a woman of early 1900s. She's timid, and thoughtful, and really more of a listener, but there's spark to her, and no one should ever underestimate her.

History: [WIKI] | [TIMELINE]

Abilities: Alice Elliot is the Key of Light, a person with the ability to channel vast amounts of energy through their bodies, making them perfect catalysts for summoning nasty, and terrible things. She is the primary healer in the game, and lacks in the defensive department. At the point taken in the game, she has three spells:

Cure: Heals, but not completely.

Holy Edge: Gives normal weapons a light-class attribute, particularly good against nasty, dark things.

Blessed Light: Her only magical attack. That does light class damage.

She is also capable of sensing things due to her Key of Light status. She is easily overwhelmed by places soaked in evil, dark energies, and is capable of performing exorcisms.

Possessions: Alice arrives with the clothes on her back, her father's cross, her bible (Tome of the Sun), along with a few thera and mana seeds.

First-Person Sample: [The video flickers to life, and Alice stares into the camera with budding anticipation. They told her how to use the item--the cell phone (such an ingenious piece, but far beyond her time)--but they didn't tell her what to say. She licks her lips, and lets out a shaking huff]

I--Hmm... Hello, I'm Alice Elliot. [a short pause--she prayed this was doing what it was supposed to] I'm looking for someone, a man. He's--[her voice shakes, but there's a passion and determination to the timidness] Oh, his name is Yuri. He's a bit brash, and sometimes violent, but... but a good man... and it's important. It's important that I find him. [after all, she spent the last sixth months without him, only to find him and now lose him again? it didn't seem fair]

Please. If you know anything... [she trails off, and ends the transmission, praying that someone would help her]

Third-Person Sample: The first job they received had been in the middle of nowhere, between where they had needed to go, and where they had been. It had been a nasty, and messy place; the owner a dying old woman who had been certain that her children were haunting her. There was no way either Alice or Zhuzhen were going to turn the job down, not just because they needed the money for their travels, but because it was in their nature to help people, no matter how the place smelled, or even how cruel and senile the people appeared to be.

"I'm not sensing anything, Zhuzhen." She gripped her bible tightly as she traveled to the second floor, each step whining and groaning, with the old adept close behind her. There was nothing in the air except the reek of rotted food, and mold. It was choking, and made Alice want to leave as soon as physically possible.

"We still should finish the sweep" He said, as they reached the top. He squeezed past the tiny exorcist, and headed down the tiny hallway. Alice pursed her lips, and her shoulders sank; her alarms weren't going off, but perhaps Zhuzhen was right. She sighed as she followed after, entering through the first door on her left.

The room she entered was a mess, broken dolls on the floor, swollen floor boards where the roof leaked, and... Alice gasped, her bible fell to the floor with a dull thud, children. They were on the bed, arranged in such a way that it appeared almost erotic. Alice had to hold back bile as she stumbled out.

"Zhuzhen!"

Alice had seen some terrible things during the last several months, things that would haunt her for years and years to come, but this... "Zhuzhen!" this was the worst.

She covered her mouth, and squeezed her eyes shut as the old adept pushed open the door just a little more. Even he gave a quiet gasp, and then quickly muttered something in Chinese. Did the old woman know? Did she do it? What was left to do?

"Downstairs, Alice." The older man's voice was calm, and Alice felt that she had no choice but to comply. She didn't want to see that again, but knew that nothing would rid her of that image. ...Those poor children, their faces caved in, their naked bodies bruised and rotted; she choked again as she reached the bottom of the stairs.

Why was this world so hard to understand? Did her prayers ever reach God's ears? Her heart fell, her eyes burned, and she wondered how there could be so much suffering in the world. Please, God, help those poor souls rest in peace.
