four hours into the mall, amber tugs at wufan's arm, finally wanting to go home.

they walk silently beside each other.

only four minutes into the walk that wufan suddenly notices that amber isn't beside him anymore.
he looks behind and sees her crouching a few meters from him.

"what's wrong?" he says worriedly after rushing to her.

"my feet hurt." amber looks at him with pout and with eyes like that of a sad puppy.

with that, wufan also crouched, with his back facing amber. the shopping bags momentarily put down.

"get on," wufan gestures on his back.

"wha-what," amber says.

"just get on, you're tired right," amber feels her cheeks burning.

amber complies and climbs on wufan's back, placing her arms on his shoulders. he takes amber's legs on his big hands, trying to arrange her position on his back.

he's not denying that his heart's beating frantically at the moment, with amber's chin on his right shoulder, her face basically just inches away from his.

the walk home was quiet, no one was speaking. it isn't until just few steps in front of amber's apartment that amber leans in and gives wufan a soft kiss on the cheek and whispers "thanks, oppa,".

wufan thinks he's stopped breathing then.
