Chanyeol draped the sheet over Sehun's head, earning a cute giggle followed by a series of very scary booes, that had Chanyeol fake a heart attack.
“Now stay still” he instructed as he marked Sehun's eyes and moth on the sheet with a blue marker.
Chanyeol cut the holes in the sheet and together they glued bats and webs and pumpkins to the sheet and to the little bucket Chanyeol had dug out of the closet for Sehun's special night.
“Chanyeol” Sehun pulled on Chanyeol's sleeve. “Thank you”
“You are welcome” he grins, patting Sehun's head.
Then they heard the front door unlock and Sehun squeaked before running to greet his father. “Where is the scariest ghost ever?” Kris bellows in his best dragon voice from the entrance.
Chanyeol laughs throwing away the remaining crumbles of papers. Sehun squeals and laughs get closer, until Chanyeol is drawn in by a long, lithe arm and was his turn to squeal as Sehun attacked his neck.
“Unfair! Unfair!” he weakly pretested, trying to squirm away from his attackers. Sehun's hand retreated and a very loud kiss was plated on his neck.
“Have you two been good?” Kris asked, and Chanyeol turned to face him with a huge grin.
“Have we?” he turned the question to Sehun, who nodded enthusiastically. “I guess we have. Why don't you show dad your costume?”
Kris put Sehun down and he ran to the couch where they left the white sheet turned ghost costume. Kris hands circled Chanyeol's waist and he grinned, diving straight for Chanyeol's lips. Chanyeol liked welcome home kisses the best, they were slow, playful, and were usually interrupted by a “Eww! Dad!” and they had a handful of giggling Sehun tangled up between their legs.
And this time was no different, apart from the fact that Sehun was wearing a sheet over his head and started making ghost-like sounds before running around their once blue couch.
“I'll make something for dinner” Chanyeol said, pecking Kris neck.
“No, sit, I'll do it”
Kris was programming the rice cooker when he awkwardly coughed. “About tonight... Steph called me, she said her shift got changed and she's free... ”
It took Chanyeol a moment to process what Kris was trying to say. “Oh... I guess it's fine, Sehun will be thrilled” he saw Kris watching him, worry clear in his eyes, but he managed to smile despite the disappointment he felt. “I mean, it's not everyday he can get to see you two together”
Kris gave up on the rice and sat beside Chanyeol, taking his boyfriend's hand in his. “You don't have to stay home. You can come, Sehun... ”
“Look, I know I could, but Sehun also needs some time with his parents. It's not everyday that his mother gets some time off to be with him”
“You know you are our family too, right? That we both love you so so so so much, right?”
Kris frowns and Chanyeol grins, pecking him. “I know, and I love you just as much”
Sehun barreled between the two of them, sprawling over Chanyeol's lap, sheet probably forgotten somewhere around the house. Chanyeol helps him up and Sehun's hand naturally goes for Chanyeol's neck. “I'm hungry” he says.
“Daddy was just telling me he is going to make hamburgers” Chanyeol says giving Kris a smirk.
“Hamburgers!” Sehun threw his hands up, almost hitting Chanyeol's nose. “Can I help?”
Kris scoops him up, resigned to clean bits of hamburgers and vegetables from the kitchen's ceiling again. “Yeah, you can”
