A few days later, halfway through the day's lessons, Jongin's phone vibrates. It's from Chanyeol.
Still convinced you're not in love?
There is an image attached with the text. On closer inspection, Jongin realises it was taken on the day of the movie. The boy doesn't know if he should be offended at being lied to, or freaked out at being stalked. It was not unexpected though. He should have known his friends were up to something. He shoots them a glare before taking a good look at the photo.
Kyungsoo was laughing, gum showing above shiny white teeth, eyes crinkling with mischief. He was holding the tub of popcorn, hand midway to grabbing a few. Jongin breaks into a smile, until he notices himself in background of the picture.
He was laughing too. He now realises it was so obvious - he looks at Kyungsoo with much endearment, as though wanting to envelop him in a tight hug and never let go. If this is how he looks like every time Kyungsoo is around, it's a miracle that his crush does not notice it.
Or maybe he does.
Gulping, Jongin glances at Kyungsoo who is listening attentively in class. His silhouette, complete with long curling eyelashes, is outlined by the morning rays from the nearby window.
What if he already knows?
Another text snaps Jongin out of his reverie.
You're doing it again. Just tell him already!
Jongin knows he can, and he probably should, but he just doesn't have the courage to do it. Because if he fails, he can't deal with whatever that comes after.

"Anyway, I heard you've got a crush on someone." Kyungsoo says offhandedly. Jongin chokes on his lunch, feeling like he is being thrown a grenade.
"How did you-"
"Well, your friends are very supportive, even though they don't act like it. They can't stop talking about it."
Jongin really hopes they didn't say anything unnecessary. His life depends on it.
"So who is it? Are you gonna confess anytime soon?" There is a certain expectation in Kyungsoo's prying voice but it goes unnoticed to Jongin who heaves a sigh of relief.
When Jongin shakes his head, he wonders if his eyes are playing tricks on him when Kyungsoo looks somewhat disappointed. But he soon forgets about it when Kyungsoo steals some fries from his tray and asks him for the rest of his sandwich.
