“so, we’re dating!” baekhee declares.

they plan to tell chanyeol the next day.

it turns out they don’t have to.

specifically, he catches them making out in the kitchen. baekhee perched up on the counter with her legs around kris’ waist while the eggs she was cooking them for breakfast burn. “this is weird,” comes chanyeol’s voice from the kitchen doorway and they break apart quickly, “i don’t know which one you to threaten to maim if you hurt the other.” chanyeol just shrugs and takes a seat at the kitchen table. “i’m not eating that egg,” he tells them. “so you better make me a new one.”

and just like that chanyeol knows about them.

the three of them slip into a comfortable relationship after that. chanyeol complains one and a while about feeling like the third wheel. especially when they all pile onto one couch together to watch a movie and baekhee chooses to sit in kris’ lap and kris spends more time giving the smooth column of her neck as many hickeys he can instead of watching the movie.

“this is disgusting,” chanyeol will says, pulling a face.

baekhee will giggle as kris finds a ticklish spot and then turn to chanyeol, “dude, you’ve seen this movie a thousand times. how are you not used to the overuse of gore?” she asks.

“not that,” chanyeol shakes his head, gesturing to the screen where someone is being decapitated with a street sign. “you two,” he affirms, turning to them and pulling the same face again.

but, in the end, they still go out for ddukbokki and kimchi stew the three of them. except kris and baekhee hold hands on the walk to the restaurant and sit on the same side of the table and willingly share their food. and baekhee is so tiny that kris can give her piggyback rides home from bars and now they collaborate on trying to get chanyeol to dance with different girls.

kris is also getting laid regularly and gets uncomplicated make-out sessions whenever he wants, so that’s pretty awesome. and chanyeol has stopped having to sleep on the couch when baekhee comes to visit.

then there is a time where baekhee doesn’t have the time to visit - working on important essay after important essay and filling in lab reports and trying to sort out how she’ll pay for tuition next year and if she wants to transfer to be closer to kris - that it’s been a month since they’ve seen each other in the flesh.

they skype, every once and while, but it’s usually when baekhee is dead tired or still working hard and kris usually ends up getting bored as baekhee sorts through various notes or feels sorry and tells her to go to bed, baby.

i miss u, he texts her one day after one of his lectures.
