“I have become your feelings mop,” Baekhyun says when Chanyeol is telling a particularly long-winded story about how Jongin had let him sling his arm over his shoulder in public for about fifteen seconds, and Chanyeol groans.
“I just really like him.”
“Yeah, that’s pretty obvious. Also it’s obvious to everyone else, too, Zitao was bugging me about your ‘dates’ at lunch.”
“They’re not dates if only one person’s interested…”
“How many times do I need to tell you, Jongin is definitely interested and you’re an idiot.”
“I’m not an idiot, I just don’t want him to get scared and stop talking to me, which is what he’ll do if I tell him, because he doesn’t like me.”
“I really preferred being your worst friend to being your feelings mop, seriously. You say the same damn thing every time Jongin leaves. Stop whining and do something about it.”
“It’s not that simple!”
“Yes it is. You really like him. There is at least a chance that he likes you-look I even toned it down, to a chance, ok, you can’t ignore me now-and he hangs around you all the time. You literally have like, two hours every day that you could tell him, and instead you just sit here and make my life miserable.”
Chanyeol rolls over on his bed so he’s facing Baekhyun. “Do you think it’ll actually work?”
Baekhyun rolls his eyes, and it’s definitely the most annoyed expression Chanyeol has seen on anyone’s face, ever. “Yes. Just fucking do it or I’m not letting you use the room next time and you can go sit in front of Joonmyun while he tries to pretend he’s concerned about what’s going on between you.”

“Hi, hyung,” Jongin says with a smile. Chanyeol can’t help but smile back, and he’s glad Baekhyun can’t see his face from where he is. “Do you want to watch a movie tonight?”
“Sure! Come on in.”
Baekhyun brushes past them as Chanyeol leads Jongin into the room. They settle on Chanyeol’s bed, and Chanyeol starts up a movie he’s been meaning to watch for ages but always forgets about. He lets himself scoot just a little bit closer to Jongin, so that their arms are brushing, and Jongin doesn’t move away. They stay like that for a long time, until Jongin leans into Chanyeol and Chanyeol puts his arm around his waist to pull him closer. Jongin doesn’t say anything and Chanyeol swears he can hear his own heart pounding. This is by far the most forward he’s ever been, but Jongin doesn’t seem to be flinching away.
Jongin looks up at him, and Chanyeol looks down. The lights are off and Jongin’s face is lit by the bluish tint of the screen, the brightness changing along with the scenes in the movie still playing on his laptop.
“I like you,” Chanyeol says, and before he can regret it Jongin is craning up to kiss him, one of his hands settling at the back of Chanyeol’s neck.
The kiss is slow and sweet, no tongue, just lips moving against lips. Jongin breaks away first, looking down at his hands instead of at Chanyeol, who pauses the movie.
“Were these… dates?” Jongin asks.
“Uh… not intentionally?”
“Sehun’s been bugging me about it.”
“It’s fine, Baekhyun’s been harassing me about liking you, so.”
Jongin nods. “Can I kiss you again?”
“Please.”
This time, the kiss is not chaste. Chanyeol slips his tongue in and maneuvers them so they’re lying side by side, Jongin’s legs wrapped into his. Jongin clutches at his shoulders, grip strong, and Chanyeol pulls him closer, so that their bodies are snug against each other.
“I’ve wanted to do that for a long time,” Jongin says into Chanyeol’s ear.
“Why didn’t you?”
“I thought you weren’t interested.”
“I thought you weren’t, either.”
They both burst out laughing.
“Did Baekhyun tell you you were an idiot a bunch of times, too?”
Chanyeol nods, and watches Jongin smile for a moment before kissing him again.
