But that's the thing: Kris is sexy in that less-is-more way-she's big on modesty. Sehuna's never seen her wear low hanging blouses or even sleeveless shirts (there was that rumour about a tattoo, but even Tao didn't have any conclusive evidence about that) so to get her to wear something as revealing as a deep-cut black blazer with chest-crossing straps? It'd be impossible.

"It'd be amazing, shut up," says Tao, holding up the outfit again. "She'd fill it out so well."

"Why do you even have this in your closet?" Sehuna asks, kicking her feet against Tao's bed. "Can I have a lollipop?"

"It's Jean Paul Gaultier," says Tao, butchering the pronunciation. "It was marked down 80% at the store. Like I'm going to pass that up." She waves her hand negligently as Sehuna helps herself to the container of snacks on Tao's bedside table. "It was big on me, but it was the only one left and I thought I could grow into it, or stuff my bra or whatever. But now I'm really happy I bought it. It'll fit Kris jie perfectly. Don't you think so?"

Yes, Sehuna has to concede to that: Kris would fit that blazer suit like she was poured into it.

"Don't you think you're getting ahead of yourself?" Sehuna says, popping her lollipop into her mouth. "The first step is to ask if Kris unni is even planning to attend the Halloween party."

"She will if she has a costume!" says Tao, shaking the blazer in Sehuna's face. "And we'll be going too! Why on earth would she say no?"

Sehuna rolls her eyes.

"No, no, and no thanks," says Kris during lunch the next day, turning back to her cell phone.

"What? But whyyy?" Tao says. She sounds honestly shocked.

Kristina's gaze flits up and once again sweeps down the expanse of black fabric Tao is holding out for her perusal. She winces. "It's really not my style."

"This isn't a fashion show!" argues Tao. "This is a Halloween dance. With a costume contest. That is giving away gift certificates for movies and food vouchers. Which Lulu has won with either Xingxing or Minnie for the last two years."

"She's very enthusiastic, yes," says Kris.

"I bet her that I could beat her this year!"

"That's your problem, not mine."

"Jie! You're so cruel! You don't care at all?"

"No," says Kris flatly. "I'm not going to the dance anyway."

"What?!"

"I have a meeting that night with Suho-sshi. We have to start organizing clubs week."

Tao pauses. "Suho oppa's not going either?"

"No."

"Oh, but. Ah, okay, so if the meeting was cancelled-"

"Why would it be cancelled," says Kris, and Tao's mouth snaps shut.

Sehuna feels a ripple of tension unfurl down her spine one second before Tao turns to her, eyes wide and beseeching.

"Leave me out of this," Sehuna says, dropping her head.
