“Hyuuuuung,” Kyungsoo whines, “You promised me that we’re going to play games after we eat, right?”
Jongin looks up from his cellphone, chatting application on the screen, to face Kyungsoo and his new, so-called adventurous video games. Wait, where did he get the DVDs from?
Give those back!” Jongin yells as he snatches the packages from Kyungsoo’s tiny hands. “Don’t touch my things without my permission, haven’t I told you so?!”
There was something akin to fear, disappointment, and sadness on Kyungsoo’s eyes as the small boy ran away to his room. Jongin, not noticing, stares at his cellphone back, waiting for Sehun’s live report reply from the cinema.
It’s all Kyungsoo’s mistake that he becomes all moody like this, he notes.
The movie is going to start soon. GTG. Bye!
Life sucks.
Jongin throws his phone to the stack of pillows, lips pursed in a small pout. No! He should not be home, babysitting Kyungsoo -little prince Kyungsoo, he mocks--, and having absolutely no fun! He should be out with his friends to the cinema, watching new movies or going to the game center or illegally reading new comic books at the bookstore or even just having a stroll in the park instead of being trapped here with a whiny little kid who is almost thirteen years younger than him. Not to forget spoiled, he adds.
“Hyung,”
“What?!” doesn’t Kyungsoo know that Jongin is in a bad mood thanks to him?
“I-um,” Kyungsoo stutters, hands clutching a colorful fairytale book. “I, I want you to read this for me. P-please?”
“No. Busy.” Jongin cuts within a bat of his eyelashes. He wants to add go fuck yourself but he knows that it’s improper (and furthermore he doesn’t want to be lectured for his language usage again, thank you very much.), so he stands by glaring at Kyungsoo. The younger mutters an apology under his breath, slowly turning back and walks to the corner of the living room, slumping to the floor with tears welling in his eyes.
There’s a slight tug on his heart when Jongin sees Kyungsoo trying to understand the book’s words by himself, but he ignores the feeling. That little brat deserves it.
But the tug gets harder.
And harder, like it wants Jongin to go and take Kyungsoo in a big bear hug.
He goes to the kitchen for some drink, but it only gets more and more hard when he passes by Kyungsoo’s crouching figure, so fragile and sad. He sighs, trying to ignore the tugs again which fails to no avail.
Idiot.
Deep sigh. “Come here, Kyungsoo. Let hyung read your book for you.”

Jongin lets Kyungsoo sit between his legs when he reads the book out loud to his younger brother.
Jongin takes Kyungsoo out to the park, buys two cones of soft ice cream before sitting on the bench, letting Kyungsoo feed the birds with bread crumbs they brought from home.
(He also lets Kyungsoo smear some sticky, cold vanilla on his nose.)
He lets Kyungsoo play his favorite games on his brand-new iPad, cheering when Kyungsoo beats the boss by his own.
Kyungsoo tugs on Jongin's sleeve, tiny finger pointing at a slide, and later laughs his heart out when Jongin picks him up and places him atop the slide.
Kyungsoo kisses Jongin on the cheek and hugs his neck tight on their way home, squealing my Jonginnie-hyung is the best hyung ever in this world.
(There’s a small grin Jongin failed to conceal after Kyungsoo says that.)
