Kris stares as the clock begins a countdown. It had been a clock up until the last 48 hours, now it was counting down. To what, he didn’t exactly know.
Less than an hour left.

Kris wakes up in the hospital, it’s white and blinding and he finds Jongin on the other bed of the ward. He sits up and looks to his surroundings when a nurse comes in. The nurse finds Kris awake and immediately calls for a doctor.
The doctor comes quick and begins his check up of Kris. He gives Kris the update of his condition.
“We administered the permanent antidote after checking it and running the necessary tests. Rest assured, you and your bandmate will be safe from now on.” He says.
“What happened? Where are the others?” Kris asks. The doctor gives him a smile and tells him to calm down and relax.
“They’re currently going through some psychological tests. I will inform them of your awakening. They can tell you what happened while you were out.” The doctor says after telling the nurse something that Kris guesses to be about his condition.
Jongin wakes up not long after, just as three of the members have arrived. They go to Kris while the doctor checks up on Jongin.
“The company managed to find us thirty minutes before time ran out. They also caught the culprits. It turns out they were scientists who were fans of EXO. They were doing some research on arousal and kind of lost it. They used their connections to try and get us to test their psycho experiment.” Joonmyun explains, he’s mostly just repeating what the investigators had said and replacing words with his own.
Kris looks at the three members who can’t seem to look at each other or him in the eye. He realizes that he can’t look them in the eye either. I slept with them.
“Hyung.” It’s Jongin, whose voice is hoarse and tired. They look up to find that Kyungsoo and a few others have entered. He looks at the three by his bed. Chanyeol and Baekhyun swallow a lump in their throats, Joonmyun stiffens.
Kyungsoo goes to Jongin as quick as possible, he holds his hand and Jongin cries. For the first time since they’ve been trapped, Jongin cries.
“Gege,” Kris finds himself looking into Lay’s eyes and the rest of the members kind of just back away from each other. Tao walks in and holds his hand. It’s warm and comforting and the way Lay is looking at him, makes his heart ache. Kris realizes why Jongin is crying because he’s crying, too.
I’m alive.
When Kris is done crying, he realizes half of the members have cried as well, the other half are comforting the ones that cried.
“What happens to us now?” Sehun asks his voice shaky and his hands are shaking as Lu Han holds them.
“I talked with Lee Soo Man seonsaengnim.” Joonmyun begins, his leg is shaking and his hands are all jittery, Jongdae puts a hand on his shoulder. He relaxes a little but he doesn’t stop his shaking or jittering.
“He said he was going to give us some time to recover. The doctors said it would take awhile. We’re going to have to go through some of the psychoanalysis exams before we can be discharged. The managers will be checking up on us as much as possible. Sooman ssi said for us to just take it easy.”
Joonmyun sighs. Jongdae squeezes his hand and Joonmyun buries his head in his hands. It’s obvious that he’s tired.
Kris glances to the bed beside his and finds Jongin sleeping again while Kyungsoo holds his hand and watches him sleep. He finds Lay and Minseok by the window, sitting on the floor with Lay’s head resting on Minseok’s shoulder. Tao is beside his bed, sitting there and looking at him. Lu Han and Sehun are in the corner by the water dispenser, Sehun with his eyes closed and Lu Han whispering possibly words of comfort in his ears. Jongdae is enveloping Joonmyun in his arms, maybe in an attempt to comfort the young leader.
He holds onto Tao’s hand, he doesn’t really know why.
