The world is kind of hazy when Sehun opens his eyes, like when he's pulled too many all-nighters and the world is slightly off-balance. The last thing he remembers is some roller coaster ride that Zitao had convinced him to go on. Sehun isn't really a roller coaster type of guy. He much prefers the spinning tea cups or even the flying Dumbo ride, and the pounding in his head only makes him more certain that going on the roller coaster was a bad choice.
He groans and gets up from the boulder he's currently sprawled across and- oh, there's a scroll in his hand. When did that get there? But he rolls it open, nonetheless, and glances at the inked script.
The hero who chooses to take on this quest must secure true love and defeat the curse from the wicked witch. Only then may he return to the other world. Sehun squints, but the other writing is either more complicated than the cursive he remembers or completely illegible. Is this some sort of prank? he wonders. Or maybe some new ride that he's stumbled into.
Glancing around, he notices a large castle, with an imposing wrought iron fence, in front of him. The landscape is barren, so Sehun hesitantly walks to the castle, the only structure in the immediate area. The gate creaks open, almost as if inviting him in. Sehun doesn't hesitate to enter- he's always wanted to explore a castle.
After an hour of meandering and finding only locked doors, Sehun decides castles are a lot more trouble than their worth. What's the point of having so many rooms if you can't even enter any of them? Sehun kind of wishes Zitao were here to help him on this quest. At least he would appreciate the leopard print plush carpet and bejeweled doors.
"Hey!" Someone's shouting from across the corridor and Sehun turns around but there's nobody there. He squints.
"Down here, cutie." Sehun glances down. Oh. A candle- or is it the metal frame holding the wax that's talking? Sehun isn't sure but he didn't realize either of those could talk- not that he would have known even if they could. His parents never actually trusted him with fire.
"Jongin," the candlestick says with a wink, "At your service."
"Sehun." He mutters, already turned back to jiggling the doorknob.
"I know you're busy with your little quest and all," Jongin interjects smoothly, "but there's somewhere much more fun than this musty hallway."
Sehun looks up. Is that candlestick's eye twitching? Do candlesticks even have eyes? Sehun really doesn't understand this ride, but he hopes Jongin's vision is okay.
"What kind of fun?" He asks.
"The kind of fun that you can only dream about," Jongin answers with an eyebrow wiggle. Sehun's not sure how trustworthy candlesticks are but it's Disney, right? So he follows when Jongin bops down the next few hallways, bringing to what looks like kitchen area. It's not particularly grand, but it's the first lighted room that's Sehun's found in the castle.
"Welcome to the party room." Jongin exclaims.
"Oh please. No one's been by here for years." Sehun spins around to see a clock against the wall rolling it's eyes. Yeah, Sehun thinks, that's definitely not normal. Disney must have put a lot of work into their computer graphics, he muses. It's a lot more exciting that he remembers from elementary school.
"That may be true," Jongin pouts. "But we've got food and Kyungsoo can play music. There's even century-old beer from the cellar."
"I will not play music." The clock- Kyungsoo?- interjects stiffly.
"Jongin," A tea set resting on the table pipes up kindly, "I appreciate your enthusiasm, but I believe the hero's here to visit the young prince."
"Maybe this time, the prince will actually stop moping," The clock grumbles, "And then he'll stop forcing us to remodel the castle with hideous prints every time he comes back."
"I'm Joonmyun," the tea set says, "And it would be a great help to us if you'd follow me."

"Pssst" Joonmyun whispers from the bottom step. "To the right."
Sehun nods gratefully and takes a right turn into the maze of greenery. He's never been good at this navigation stuff, so he takes twists and turns when he feels he should. Finally he reaches a clearing, where he's facing the back of a stone throne. The prince? he wonders. But the red fur coat looks awfully familiar. Even more so when he steps in front of the throne, when he can clearly see Zitao's silver hair.
"Zitao?" Sehun asks, "Why didn't you tell me you work at Disneyland? That's a wicked costume by the way. This game's been really cool actually. How did they even set it up?"
"This isn't some sort of game. This is my life." Zitao looks up and nods, a serious expression on his face even more serious than the time his credit card was almost canceled or when Sehun didn't realize he was supposed to pay for the first date. Sehun gulps.
"Wait," Sehun says, "You mean that scroll was real? Like, you're actually under a curse or whatever?"
"Yes!" Zitao wails. "I have to find someone who will love me for who I am and not what I seem to be." He gestures towards the two black ears protruding from his hair and the tail curled into his lap that Sehun just notices. Sehun has the odd urge to reach out and stroke them, and he wonders if they're as soft as Zitao's actual hair. "If I cannot have my true love's kiss by the time the last petal falls off this rose," He gestures towards a wilting rose tucked into his lapel, "I will die!"
Suddenly, there are tears threatening to escape Zitao's eyes. Sehun frowns. Zitao shouldn't be crying. Zitao be eternally surrounded by happiness and butterflies and rainbows and designer handbags, and Sehun scrambles to figure out what would make Zitao smile again.
"So," Sehun takes a step forward. "You need someone to kiss you."
Tao half-shrieks, half-sobs. "Not just someone to kiss me. Someone who will love me despite all this."
"Oh? That's all?" Sehun looks up surprised "I don't see much difference. You're just a little furrier than usual."
"But I have ears!" Zitao shrieks, "I can never go out on full moons again! And my physique! Red meat has done horrible things to my figure!"
"I don't really mind the ears." Sehun begins, "Actually, the tail is pretty cool. And it's not like we do much on full moons anyways, other than play video games or watch movies." Sehun shrugs. "I mean, you're still Zitao, right? The same Zitao that I've always known with the loud shrieking and horrible fashion sense."
"Hey," Zitao screeches, "What's wrong with my fash-"
Before he can go on, Sehun closes the gap between their lips. Zitao pulls back a little in surprise, before sighing into the kiss and wrapping his arms around Sehun's waist. Someone- Jongin?- whistles, which Sehun didn't realize inanimate objects could do either and he files that thought away for later consideration. But then Zitao's doing something with his teeth against Sehun's lower lip and Sehun can't do much thinking at all anymore.
