Sometimes, Kris wondered what could have been if he was less stubborn, maybe, they would have been able to salvage what’s left of their relationship. They had gotten angry and hurt each other with sharp words in proving their points. Kris could see clearly what idiots both of them were, now.
"B." He typed into the search bar. Baekhyun’s name was listed at the top. Kris bit his lip, just a peek wouldn't hurt. It has been years since they saw each other, he figured out that the pain would have dulled enough by now. Before he could change his mind, Kris clicked on Baekhyun's profile picture. An entire page loaded. He remembered that back in college, Baekhyun’s Facebook name was Byun Bacon. Kris smiled wistfully. It has been years and he was still able to remember tiny details of Baekhyun’s life as if he had just acquired the information yesterday.
Baekhyun’s cover photo stared back at him, a typical picture of a sunset taken at a beach. Kris sat very still, absorbing all the information in the glare of the screen, which made everything so terrifyingly clear. His shaking hand, (No, he didn't know why did it shake) which was still clutching the mouse has scrolled down. The first thing that greeted him was Baekhyun's smile, which radiated so beautifully and someone, who Kris didn’t recognize, hugging Baekhyun’s tanned skin from behind while two children were playing in the sand. The caption read, "At the beach with my beloved family :o)" Kris sucked in his breath. His eyes managed to catch the company that Baekhyun was currently working in. Baekhyun didn’t end up working in the entertainment company he used to dream about when he was twenty.
It had hit him so painfully that while he has been nursing the pain in his heart for so many years, Baekhyun has moved on and found his other half. The fingers of his left hand tightened at the handle of his half-filled mug, the only thing that was anchoring him at the moment while he lost himself chasing rabbits from the past. The temperature of his office never felt so chillingly cold at the moment.

Kris : hey.
His mind screamed at him, “What are you doing?” After fretting over it for ten minutes, he saw that Baekhyun was typing. He curled his fingers into a fist nervously.
Baekhyun : Hey ^^ How have you been? It has been a long time since I heard from you.
Kris let out a breath that he didn’t know he was holding. Baekhyun still loved putting emoticons in his sentences.
Kris : I am fine. You?
Before Baekhyun could reply, Kris typed more words while taking small gulps of coffee from his cup.
Kris : Are… are you happy?
Baekhyun : Yes, I am very content with my life now. You? Are you happy?
Kris stared at his computer screen, regretting his moment of impulse that drove him to make this mad action of speaking to Baekhyun. Kris wanted to type, “I have no idea.” In the end, he backspaced and rewrote his words.
Kris : I am fine.
If Baekhyun noticed that Kris did not reply to his question, he did not push it.
Baekhyun : I am currently working on a small album, which would coming out soon. You should visit Korea soon C: The gang missed you :D
Kris didn’t want to reply at all. He was tempted to leave it there and pretend that he didn’t see the conversation.
Kris : We’ll see.
Kris : :)
It was uncharacteristic of Kris to add the smiley face in the end as an afterthought but he didn’t want to sound cold and bitter for the first time that he was able to contact Baekhyun after so many years. Perhaps, until now, he has not left the burrow.
He was so absorbed in his thoughts that he did not notice his co-workers returning from lunch. His intercom beeped and snapped him out of his reverie, "Sir, Mr. Zhang is here to see you about the business proposal you discussed about last Wednesday." He suddenly remembered where he was, all traces of the heartbroken man shelved again in his mind as he closed the Facebook application.
Perhaps, he would see Baekhyun again. Perhaps, he would never see him again. Who would know what fate had in store for them. Baekhyun had found his happiness, maybe, it’s time for Kris to start searching for his. Recollecting his scatted feelings, and dismissing the heavy feeling in his heart, he straightened up the posture in his seat while his shoulders took a more formal edge.
"Yes, please send him in, Jongdae. And get me a fresh cup of coffee.”
*I know that this is crappy and it’s my first time writing so forgive me T_T There are so many things I want to change and add. (especially on the Facebook page details) The transition and flow of scenes. More description. But I have no time so here is a draft that will never be re-written T_T and I know that I didn’t put enough EXO in there. It started okay, but it went downhill from there, LOL. It can be improved so much… OTL
