"Do you love me?" the voice on the other end of the line drawls, words slurring and drawn out to emphasize the word love. Probably the point or perhaps the indication of one's degree of intoxication. Who is he kidding? Probably both by this amount of drawl.
A sigh slips from Kyungsoo's lips before he replies with "of course I do, Baekhyun." Which is then quickly followed by fiddling with his fingers and a follow up question: "Are you drinking with Chanyeol?"
The other end of the phone is quickly taken up by a disgusted noise, obviously offended. "No. He's with his girlfriend and told me to shut up."
Kyungsoo has to stifle the urge to pinch the bridge of his nose and suppress the thought of him being the second in line of Baekhyun's list of close friends. Oh well.
"Did something happen between you and..." trailing off trying to recall Baekhyun's boyfriend's name. "Kai, was it?"
A muffled sob before the other answers with a quiet "yeah" and a plead for Kyungsoo's presence.
Kyungsoo stifles another sigh and glances at his unfinished paper. The cursor blinks, beckoning him to finish. But the not so quiet tears drive him to do otherwise. He is a friend after all, correct?
.
First mistake was to put the phone on speaker mode. No, actually the first mistake was to pick up Baekhyun's call to begin with.
Yifan winces at the loud background music that blasts through his phone speakers. For a second he is afraid that he has ruined them. Hollers and drunken yells permeate the room and he is still hesitant on whether or not he should switch the mode. Speakers are replaceable, ears are not.
"Yah, Yifan! Come join us!" followed by an echo of "come join us!"
"Is that Chanyeol?" brows furrowing in recognition despite the music attempting to drown out all conversations.
"Yeah! Say hi~" and a group bursts into giggles while Yifan counts to ten, keeping himself from hanging up on them.
"Look," he finally interjects after three minutes of giggles and basses, "there has better be a good reason for you to distract me from this essay-"
"Aw, come on. Have some fun!" quickly replaced by a "Chanyeol, where are you going?"
"It's a tuesday and please don't tell me that you are alone." If he sounds desperate, then he probably is, hoping to return to work rather than this nonsense. If it had been any other night he would have happily joined the party and gotten himself tipsy for the night.
"Well..." trailing off like a girl twirling her hair around her fingers. "Since Chanyeol has spotted this beauty across the club, I guess I am?"
Yifan's fingers pinch the bridge of his nose as he tilts his head back, almost as if quietly muttering a prayer.
"And that puppy of yours?" he prompts.
"Oh. Jongin? He's at home. You know how concerned he gets." And he has the right to be Yifan adds in his head still confounded by the thought that this child actually has a boyfriend.
Baekhyun is whining at this point and Yifan sees no end to this conversation except for shutting the other up by showing up to the club.
"Alright," and makes it clear about his lack of interest by a long and heavy sigh. It is quickly responded by a cheerful "yay" and some clapping. Not to mention unwanted kissing noises in the phone as he bids the other goodbye.

"Next Station" announced through the intercom with the usual monotone voice and same instructions each time. This time, Kyungsoo rises from his seat and makes his way to the door. Three taps of the metal bar indicates the time it takes for the doors to finally slide open and let people squeeze in or squeeze out. It is a blessing that this station has relatively a few individuals that wish to get on or off.
The tracks cut right through the middle, separating one side from the other. He turns his head to scan the area he is in and sees a tall man on the opposite platform with hair bleached to the color of straw. Most of it is obscured by his black trilby hat that matches his black slacks and equally black coat. What draws Kyungsoo's attention is the silver cross dangling from his left ear. He's seen piercings before, in fact - Jongdae has just gotten one recently, but this bold and brazen attitude... Kyungsoo doesn't know what to make of it.
.
He's here. It is as easy as walking in the middle of the night as he navigates to the door and steps off of the subway train. This is apparently the one closest to wherever his friends are partying, still a fifteen to twenty minute walk though. He readjusts his hat to ensure his presentability. Despite his lack of interest in staying, it is still etiquette to not dress like a slob. Actually, he would probably kill himself if his appearance isn't photogenic once out of the house - according to Jongdae's claims. They could be taken with a grain of salt. In fact, Yifan suggests it.
It takes him a few minutes to orient himself, mostly distracted by an individual directly across from himself but situated on the opposite platform. His outfit isn't particularly worth noting. A simple t-shirt layered by dressier jean jacket and paired with black pants. However, he seems to be so displaced in the area even though there weren't many individuals milling about to begin with. Something about his large eyes that possessed some kind of vacant quality that had Yifan feeling lost as well.
.
He scans again and finds himself staring at the other's face. A brief glance and his gaze is caught by the other.
.
And held there. Part of him feels bad for staring, the other part can't look away.
.
The steady rhythm of the train becomes distinctly clearer by each passing second until the wind rushes through the tunnel and the main body obscures the individuals from their observers.
Kyungsoo then remembers the sad and broken voice of Baekhyun's and quickly scans the exit signs for the appropriate street name. It takes a few seconds and he heads towards his right.
.
The blur or yellow and white snaps him out of his trance and Yifan realizes that another crowd will soon be getting off. And so he checks his phone again for the directions, takes a look at the street names and turns towards the right.

Is this all my life amounts to? There must be more to life than this. It is as if something or someone is missing from my life.
A/N: The title comes from the subway station where I was inspired heavily by. The prologue is shared by both characters. Sorry for the heavy deviation. Point of collision is whatever space they occupy. It'll make sense when I actually finish this... If I ever finish this.
