A scorching weekend and I spent most of it scrubbing, sanding and oiling the floor in the spare room. Just a coat of wax and it will be finished, just in time for our guests. Katy and I did manage to try out the new Ystwyth Valley cycle path that now runs south along the old railway (after a false start involving a puncture and a broken helmet). It is very pretty but I would rather they rebuilt the railway itself!
I am currently reading "Evolution's Rainbow" by Joan Roughgarden. The last book that read by Roughgarden was "Anolis Lizards of the Caribbean", back in 1997 when she was a man and called herself Jonathon. Anyway, it is quite an interesting and challenging book (if you are interested in the evolution of sex) though I wish these cranky old professors would try to be a little less confrontational and dismissive of their opponents.
