Winter vs Summer in the Ogwen Valley

Katy and I went walking in the Carneddi today. The weather was beautifully clear and very warm in the sun while remaining cold in the shade. This created a really strange effect in the Ogwen Valley - the shaded slopes of the valley were rimed with frost while the sunny slopes were unfrozen. The effect was of a battle between the kingdoms of Summer and Winter (or perhaps of the old year with the new).



Llyn Ogwen - the first time that I have seen it completely frozen.
