EYES
Chen has beautiful expressive eyes that portray his emotions perfectly whenever he sings, framed perfectly by long eyelashes. And when he smiles, the corner of his eyes crinkle so prettily. But that is not all there is to Chen's eyes, because the addition of eyeliner makes everything better. When his eyes are lined with kohl and coupled with that face, who can resist that stare?
CHEEKBONES
One of Chen’s most prominent features are his cheekbones. Have you ever seen such perfect bone structure? Our talented vocalist seems to have lost some weight recently, so his cheekbones are out in full force now. Sharp enough to cut glass they say. And maybe your heart too, but hey it's okay, cause Chen's warm smile will patch you right up.
SMILE :3
A warm smile that can launch a thousand ships. Created by beautiful lips. Imagine that beautiful smile targeted in your direction, how would your heart be able to take it? Whenever that smile appears, it melts the hearts of fans around the world so easily, one at a time and counting. Don't bother trying to resist the power of that smile, just give in ;)
JAWLINE
To complete his perfect (we're not kidding - it's close) bone structure, Chen also has a chiseled jawline to match those killer cheekbones. Take a look at that side profile. This is what they call perfect. from. all. angles.
NECK
Chen has a very strong and long neckline that fits wonderfully with the rest of his features. As he always puts in maximum effort when performing, his neck muscles and veins tend to make a appearance on stage, especially when hitting those high notes. His beautiful neckline is one of the many reasons why it's so enjoyable to watch him sing every time.

ARMS
Although Chen may be on the thin side and look slight, do not let appearances fool you for he is definitely more than just skin and bones. Don't believe us? Look at those arms. Chen is definitely not scrawny at all. We look forward to the day when he gets to put on more sleeveless tops, or dare we imagine it, topless shoots. We are counting on you coordi noonas and magazine stylists!
MUSCLES
Our resident dancing machine Chen is already well on his way to building up those all so important muscles. Have a peak at that hidden cleavage. Want more pictorial proof? Direct your eyes downwards and check out his defined Apollo’s belt, also known as obliques (or informally, sex cuts). Chenchen's also got some abs going on. Doesn't the idea of topless shoots seem even more promising now ;)
LOWER BODY
We think that we should just let the photos speak for themselves.
Onstage, Chen can easily take on different personas, becoming Fierce Chen for songs like MAMA with ease, or turning into Overflowing with Feelings Chen while singing love songs like Angel or Baby Don't Cry. Through our investigation, we have also uncovered that Chen in fact has many other alternative identities, befitting of the mystery that he is.
Alias #1: Cute Dongsaeng Chen
Mostly commonly spotted around his hyungs and noona fans, Cute Dongsaeng Chen will pout, lick, pout, hearteu, pout, smile, pout, and bbuing bbuing ~~ his way into your heart. Oh did I mention pout? Even manager hyung cannot resist that pout. A fan of both words and action, Dongsaeng Chen also has a habit of sticking out his tongue to express his opinion. He also has his own special brand of aegyo! Another one of Cute Dongsaeng Chen’s irresistible sides is kitty face Chen Chen :3, matched perfectly with a plushie version.
Alias #2: Boy Next Door Chen
Boy Next Door Chen is usually seen in various airports around the world. He tends to dress fairly simple and casual, choosing to wear button up shirts, polo shirts or T-shirts during the warmer seasons, and simple coats and jackets during the colder seasons. Our boy Chen is good looking enough that simple clothing like this like this can sufficiently bring out his good looks. Boy Next Door Chen also tends to appear near the SMent building, where without the influence of coordi noona, he has a penchant for accessorising with brightly colored headgear, and occasionally chooses more bold prints for his clothing. Speaking of accessories...
Alias #3: Chenry Potter
With the addition of a magical pair of spectacles perched on his nose, our mystery boy transforms into the magical ~Chenry Potter~. He has a broom to prove it too. Sometimes, the magic is uncontrollable and affects his hair. But often times, the magic works perfectly and turns our Chenry Potter into a dapper young man instead.
Alias #4: Lamb Chen
This is the most elusive and rare identity that mystery Chen has taken up so far. Presenting to you, Lamb Chen. Lamb Chen turns extra sensitive to people touching his head, with varying reactions. Lamb Chen is also extremely vulnerable to dragon attacks.
Alias #5: Model Chen
Perhaps the most visible and most popular identity that Chen assumes, Model Chen is a combination of fierce and cute. Throughout their first year and all their magazine shoots, Chen has risen to become one of the best models in EXO. His smoldering stare and heartwarming smile (not to mention hot bod) just make for one great model.
It's always difficult to explain why we stan who we stan, but there are other things, small or big, that we can share that definitely helped carve Chen's place in our hearts.
Chen cares about his members
Whether he’s being Xiumin’s coordi dongsaeng behind the scenes, or helping Xiumin when he’s hurt (at the Thailand showcase, Xiumin had to go offstage and afterwards Chen got called backstage by a translator noona while jamming to Two Moons, later holding on to Xiumin when he comes back on stage), Chen doesn't hide how much he cares about the people in his life. And it's not just Xiumin - Chen has comforted his maknae when he cries, has made sure Tao’s precious accessories don't get left on stage, has fixed Luhan’s backpack strap for him when it was tangled, and even wiped the sweat of his fellow members (as seen in the OTP section). He also wishes them the best.
Chen doesn't let a language barrier hold him back
Back in April 2012, Chen said that he'd only been learning to speak Mandarin for 6 months. Counting back, that means he only started learning around October or November 2011 - around the same time EXO was preparing (and probably recording) the album.
In the 音樂High客 Tianjin Music High Guest interview, Chen revealed that his most memorable moment during the album recording sessions was realizing that he took the longest when recording because of his poor Mandarin pronunciation. All members were present during the recording sessions, so whenever Chen finally finished his parts he would come out of the booth and see how tired everyone was. He took this as a lesson to fix his pronunciation before entering the studio.
Because he's a Korean in a Mandarin subgroup, Chen has also committed himself to learning Chinese and has said that he wants to speak Chinese so well to the point that people don't know whether he's Chinese or Korean. Just five months after he first told us his 家有四口人, he did a long self-introduction for Yahoo nearly entirely in Chinese, even learning a few new phrases on the spot. He also uses pinyin (romanized Chinese with tone marks), as seen during the iFeng interview. He doesn't shy away from attempting Chinese tongue twisters, and tries not to let his language hold him back from being himself on Chinese television.
Wherever he may be, or whatever the language, it doesn't matter to Chen. His dedication to singing (and to the fans) remains. We'll leave you with a quote from Chen: "Even though the language is different, the music is still the same."
Chen is proud of his roles in EXO(-M)
Even though his logo ring rubs his knuckles until they blister, he still wears it proudly. He throws up an M sign when Baekyeol do the K sign. As part of the vocal line, he gives it his all when live performing songs by EXO and Chinese artists by showing off his high notes and getting the crowd involved. He has even accepted the role of dancing machen thrust upon him, using it to show off his alternate take on spinning.
Chen is more than just 'Chen'
Whether a person's first impression of Chen was a shy, quiet boy lost in translation, or as trolling machine, Chen shows that there's definitely more to him that meets the eye. From caring for members to helping a fan (Chen ;~;), he shows that he's definitely more than just the performer onstage, or the funny, cute guy offstage, and it's worth watching him in the future to see all other sides of him that make him worth supporting.

I hope you enjoyed this investigation we did on this fine specimen known as Chen. I was really nervous when I signed up for this but with my fellow collaborators it was fun and exciting. Gathering all this information on Chen made me realize why he is my bias. This is where it gets mushy so I’ll try to contain myself. First off his voice, hands down my favorite in EXO. I’m still amazed on how good he is at performing with the short amount of training he got. And you know I like his dance skills. I’m probably being biased here but he’s good for 11 months of training. I love how he tries to get past the language barrier and tries to communicate with the small amount of Chinese he knows. He seems like such a fun guy to be around with, even if he’s a bit of a troll. I also love his smile, his laugh and I’ll stop there. Anyway, again thank you reader (especially if you read this, lol) and I hope you start to notice Chen some more now. EXO is one of the best things that happened to me (even the lack of comeback). I will continue to support you guys!
mondae_e: Chen, Jongdae, King Jongdayum, you're EXO's little powerhouse and thank you for your general existence. I'm only a little biased when I say you have the potential to be one of the best voices in K-pop (I'm pretending to hold back since you've done <10 songs). But it's not just your voice I love - you never fail to make me happy with your humour, your face, your improved dances, your clothes, and your determination to learn Chinese. I don't know Korean but recently started learning Chinese, so whenever you use Chinese in interviews, I can actually understand you and it motivates to work even harder. Seriously, when I realized I understood you completely in that Yahoo interview, I about died of happiness and have now watched it too many times to count. Thank you Chen, exochocolate, azulluna, nickymin, and rellasoo for making this amazing post possible. Special shout out to --- for being our HTML Queen and for everything else you've done.
