Summary: There stands the animal.
A/N: This is based on a Japanese folklore. I forgot the title but I read it a day ago.

Out in the woods, where the crows sang their songs, lived an animal, conniving and sly.

On the fourth full moon of the summer season, a man with black hair by the simple name of 박찬열 sets a trap. Only a few hours later, he catches it .

I'm going to kill you, skin you, and eat you, he says to the animal hanging by its foot. I will come back in the morning. You are my meal.

So he leaves. The animal is hanging, angry.

Dawn breaks and the man's partner 변백현 stumbles on the find.

The animal talks, luring him in.

Free me and I will repay you with heart's desire, it says.

Naive and daft, 변백현 frees him, only to be tricked.

With the sun as its witness, the animal kills 변백현 with no mercy. It skins him. It boils him. It cooks him.

Then, it takes his form.

박찬열 is approached by his partner in the early morn, surprised to see that 변백현 had cooked.

He's handed a bowl filled with meat cooked tenderly brown, and happily eats.

변백현 waits until 박찬열 finishes his fill before unveiling himself as it, the animal.

You ate him, you ate him, you ate him, it cackles.

박찬열 vomits, horrified and the animal runs back into the forest, its laugh echoing through the dark.

chanbaek, horror, oneshot, it the animal
