Numbers and calculations were the two things that often ran through his mind in the past. It was second nature in the environment that he was in, prior to it all becoming obsolete. At the age of twenty-two, Byun Baekhyun’s life consisted of strategies and calculations on math, business, life and marriage. It was like a metal brace attached to him, keeping him in a form that he didn’t want to be in. As lovely as the large house and the promise of one of the largest corporations in the country becoming his, he didn’t hold much interest in the business of robotics and technological advancements, which, to many, was a shame considering his gift in the arts of it.

Life had a funny way of rearranging itself for the happiness of others and Baekhyun couldn’t fathom even daring to figure out how he had gotten so lucky for someone who probably deserved it the least. There were many occasions that he wished to break out of his parents’ wishes, but never had the chance to until the day he decided to jump from his second story bedroom window and fall onto the nicely cut bushes right below. He had to limp his way to a taxicab that night, but Baekhyun knew it was all worth it.

If he hadn’t sucked it up and jumped out the window, if he hadn’t been a lousy roommate to Kai, and if he hadn’t taken up the opportunity to work as a maid, he wouldn’t have found the dysfunctional, unstructured, and chaotic household that he accidentally fell in love with.

With his eyes shut and lips bitten, Baekhyun gripped onto Chanyeol’s thighs, keeping balanced as he felt his fiancé’s large hand up against his backside. Rhythmically, he brought himself down the giant’s shaft. Skin hitting skin was all that could be heard in the room, but Baekhyun’s moaning voice was soon added when Chanyeol gave one swift thrust into his vixen’s tight, pink hole the exact moment when Baekhyun drove himself down to the base of the cock.

When Chanyeol realized he had finally hit the brunet’s weak spot, he took him by the waist and lifted him just enough to take control and fuck into him, abusing the discovered prostate with no mercy. He took an adoration of the view that he had and thanked god that Baekhyun decided he wanted to try out the reverse cowgirl position for their last fuck in the house before moving. The sight of Baekhyun’s small cunt taking all of him despite dripping from the last time he had unloaded in the tight space gave Chanyeol more motivation to continue making Baekhyun cry out in pleasure.

Just as he was beginning to feel his cock constrict, signaling his limit, Chanyeol pulled out. Baekhyun tried to object by reaching behind and grabbing the lengthy shaft and repositioning it to his entry again, but the giant had other ideas. Pulling Baekhyun down on his chest, Chanyeol rolled both of them over until Baekhyun was the one with his back pressed on the mattress.

“What’re you doing, daddy?” the brunet whined as he reached down and writhed as he tried to replace the giant’s cock with his fingers. “I was so close.”

Grunting, Chanyeol forcibly removed Baekhyun’s long, slender fingers and slid back into his warmth, releasing a moan. “I know,” he said as he took a few seconds to fully sheath his length fully in. “I need to see your face.”

Baekhyun groaned, looking up at him with hooded eyes. “You always see my face.”

Smirking, Chanyeol dismissed the sarcastic remark when the petit male lifted his legs. Placing his elbows on either side of Baekhyun, he began to slowly move, making sure to push in as deep as he could. “Call me daddy, again,” he gruffly said just as his lips hovered over Baekhyun’s.

“Daddy,” Baekhyun said pleadingly as he held on to Chanyeol’s slick shoulders. “Ah-Faster, faster-God damn it, Chanyeol! You’re not being a daddy right now! You’re being a grandpa!”

Thoroughly done with teasing his frustrated husband-to-be, Chanyeol licked the brunet’s bottom lip before he slipped his tongue inside his mouth, ceasing any more words. His body worked like a piston, shoving his cock hard deep and pulling out all the way only to continue the cycle with no breaks in between.

Baekhyun’s back arched off the bed and it got to a point where the constant beating of his prostate became too much that he simply broke. Coming down from his high after releasing himself all over his stomach, creating a sticky mess, Baekhyun pouted his lips as he looked up to meet with Chanyeol’s eyes.

“I came…” he quietly said.

Surprisingly, he sounded sullen to Chanyeol’s ears cause the giant to come to a slow pause. “Then that’s good.”

“No, I’ve already come one more time than you have,” Baekhyun replied with a serious look on his face. “It’s not fair to you.”

Chuckling at Baekhyun’s worry, Chanyeol placed a quick kiss on his cheek. “Stop thinking about it. It’s only fair considering you won’t be able to help with the rest of the move later.”

“Hurry up and bust a nut already so I won’t have to feel as bad,” Baekhyun said as he stuck his tongue out.

Feeling Baekhyun purposely squeeze tighter around him, Chanyeol bit back a gruff groan. “Tease”

“A guilty tease,” Baekhyun said, taking the initiative at wrapping his legs around the giant’s waist and trying to pull him in deeper. “Now, come on. I can hear Nugget scratching at the door, Yeol-Hold on, baby! Dad’s almost done!”

Getting back into gear, Chanyeol attempted to finish himself off one last time, but just as he was about to reach his end, Nugget’s barks outside their door and his persistent pawing and scratching at the door threw Baekhyun in such a guilty swirl that he gave Chanyeol a sad, puppy-like look and the giant he had to finish then or else the brunet was going to abruptly leave to attend his dog.

It wasn’t the orgasm he thought he’d be having for his last time in that house, but nonetheless, he was satisfied with it. After being given a chaste kiss on the lips and multiple promises of a better “next time”, Baekhyun rolled off their messy sheets and started for the door, leaving Chanyeol to lie on his side and watch his nude, unclean idiot open the door for his dog.

Moving was more or less of a hassle, but Chanyeol knew that they definitely needed a new house. Kyungsoo had tried to resign and move out due to certain privacy reasons a few months prior, but Baekhyun unyieldingly expressed how he wasn’t going to allow it and that if he needed more privacy for his love affair with his assistant, then that could be easily fixed. The brunet’s outward exclamation wouldn’t have been so bad if it wasn’t in front of the entire household, animals and all.

That night, Kyungsoo spent the evening locked in his room and Chanyeol ended up having to cook dinner while Baekhyun sat outside the cook’s room, apologizing and begging for him to open the door.

It took a while for Baekhyun to convince the giant that they needed to move into a larger home. Unbeknownst to the petit male, Chanyeol didn’t need much convincing. He just found it amusing how Baekhyun was trying overly hard to convince him on an issue that he had already decided on by doing housework and initiating indecent activities during the day.

When he finally told Baekhyun that he agreed, his fiancé was more than ecstatic. Fitting house hunting into his schedule was much tougher than Chanyeol thought it would be, hence, he-with wavering confidence-sent Baekhyun off to do the entire house scouting for the first month.

Baekhyun’s reports were always the same because he loved every house the real estate agent took him in.

“I loved it because, well, I thought that wherever I am, as long as you’re there, that’s home, right?”

It was an endearing thought and Chanyeol was touched, but Baekhyun’s sentimentality wasn’t getting their house search anywhere.
He took it upon himself to visit some houses on his own and even made the decision of buying one without consulting his small fiancé. When the deal was closed and Baekhyun finally found out, Chanyeol had to deal with calling up the movers and trying to gently tell Baekhyun that his house searching methods were kind, but ineffective.

-

-

The movers had already taken most of the large furniture out of the house. All that was left were a few boxes that could be transported in the two of the three vehicles that they had. Baekhyun’s sports car gift from his parents could barely fix one box, which made it completely useless.

One by one, all the boxes went. When it was Baekhyun’s turn to give up his boxes, Chanyeol walked to his old bedroom and knocked on the door before walking in. “Baekhyun, are you-why do you have ten boxes in here!?”

There was absolutely no reason for Baekhyun to have ten boxes. The only thing that was left after the movers took the furniture were clothes, a few decorations and his books.

“I only had two boxes at first,” Baekhyun said calmly as he taped another one closed. “Then I realized it would be easier to organize everything at the new house if I separated all the books based on author. So, I took some boxes from the kitchen.”

It then made sense as to why Kyungsoo was complaining about the lack of boxes for the dishes and plates, forcing him to stuff it all in whatever he find. Walking over to a box, Chanyeol lifted it up and shook it. When he heard the singular sound inside, he pursed his lips and gave Baekhyun a look.

“You have one book in here.”

“Two,” Baekhyun corrected.

“Baekhyun.”

“Chanyeol, organization is the key to everything,” Baekhyun dismissed as he picked up the box he was working on and set it aside before putting the tape and scissor away. “Okay, I'm done.”

They had a minor stare off. Baekhyun knew that the giant was trying to guilt him into shame for using unnecessary boxes, but he wouldn’t have it. In turn, he sat on the floor with a straight face, expecting for Chanyeol give in, which he eventually did.

As reluctant as Chanyeol was to carry ten boxes that practically carried nothing, he did so anyways for two reasons. The first reason was unconditional love for the sly brunet and if happiness for him meant having his stupid books carried by someone else, then Chanyeol would do it. The second reason was time, which Chanyeol didn’t want to waste by arguing.

When they had everything in Chanyeol’s SUV, Baekhyun gave the giant a quick pat on the cheek. “Thanks, bro.”

Chanyeol stood frozen for a second, replaying what the brunet had just said to him. Then he closed the back and walked around, getting into the driver’s seat just as Baekhyun was settling down in shotgun. “I’m not a ‘bro’, Baekhyun,” he said in a serious tone as he twisted the ignition. “You can call me anything, but not ‘bro’.”

“Alright, peanut brittle.”

“Baekhyun.”

Looking up from his cellphone, Baekhyun tilted his head. “What is it, fruit tart?”

“I’m your fiancé, not a bro,” Chanyeol said to him before looking out the window and signaling the others.

Luhan, who was driving Baekhyun’s car, backed out of the driveway first. Kyungsoo had taken the helm of Chanyeol’s car by the side of the road and forced Kai to sit in the back with the edges of multiple boxes poking at him. He went second, following after the sports car.

“Bro is short for brother,” Baekhyun said when Chanyeol started putting the car in reverse and pulling out to follow the rest. “In all technicalities, by science, we are all related some way or another by amazing people we call great-ass ancestors.”

“I’ll be damned if I’m committing incest every time we share a bed together,” Chanyeol muttered, changing gears to drive and beginning to drive behind Kyungsoo. “Point of the matter is, when you want to thank me for something, I deserve more than you calling me ‘bro’ and patting me on the cheek.”

Baekhyun glanced at him from his phone. “Fine.” Leaning over, he gave the giant a wet kiss on the neck, surprising him and causing the car to move out of line for a short, terrifying second. “Thank y-”

“Don’t you dare do that again while I’m driving!” Chanyeol sternly said as Baekhyun laughed to himself in his seat. “At least warn me first!”

“I was thanking you in an intimate way!” Baekhyun responded, smiling like they weren’t about to die just then.

“Your ‘thank you’ wouldn’t have mattered if we died,” Chanyeol huffed. “I could’ve driven us right into the damn ocean and we could’ve drowned.” Before Baekhyun could comment on the unlikeliness of the event, the giant shut him up. “We’re not dying four months before we even get married.”

Baekhyun nodded along just to show that he was listening. “What a goal, Mr. Park,” he said casually. “So, after we get married, does that mean we’re free to die then?”

Chanyeol sighed. “Stop making this conversation more complicated than it needs to be.”

“I’m just wondering,” Baekhyun sang, wiggling a finger in the air before he aimed it at the radio, turning the music up high. “What kind of songs do you have in here?” he asked. After a while, he scrunched his nose. “Soft indie…”

“What’s wrong with it?”

Baekhyun shrugged. “It’s a two hour drive. You need to stay awake while I go to sleep and leave you to stress about driving all by yourself. Fun Fact, slow music puts many old people to sleep, Chanyeol. I’m worried that with your aging body, you might just fall asleep behind the wheel.”

Rolling his eyes, Chanyeol heaved his shoulders. “Then what do you suggest we listen to?”

It only took half a minute for Chanyeol to regret his words. Without any consultation of any sort, Baekhyun switched to a station that played the mainstream music. However, the brunet had chosen a very rated station and within a second, Baekhyun had cranked the volume and bass and all Chanyeol could hear in his ears were profanities and sexual terms involving having sex in the back of a club.

He looked over to Baekhyun who was leaning back in his seat and bobbing his head to the sound. He closed his eyes with a smile on his face, leaving Chanyeol to wonder if Baekhyun actually enjoyed songs like the racket he had blasting in the car. As though he could sense the giant wondering, Baekhyun lifted his eyelids just enough to make quick eye contact with his fiancé and then he grinned.

“I love music that I can relate to,” he said with a harmless look of innocence on his face.

Baekhyun didn’t take long to knock himself out, softly breathing in a car that was still playing horrendous songs about having sex with multiple people. In the end, he was right. The music did keep Chanyeol awake, but not because of its intense beat and sound. As much as it pained him to do so, he imagined Baekhyun in every one of the situations described in the songs and let the jealous rage inside of him keep him awake.

Forty-five minutes into their drive, they decided to stop at a small restaurant near the road to refuel the cars and grab something to eat. Pets were not allowed, however, and Chanyeol had the difficult task of convincing the manager to at least let Nugget stay at the waiting area tied to a pole. Beyond Baekhyun’s knowledge, Chanyeol actually had to bribe the man or else he knew that Baekhyun would take his plate and eat outside if he had to.

As always, the conversation at table was as casual as it always was to them. Most conversations went about with no harm attached, and although Chanyeol found himself slightly irritated at some things, it wasn’t new. It was just the usual.

Trying to swirl the spaghetti strings onto his fork, Luhan decided to pipe up about a fact that suddenly came to mind. “Ah, I remember back in college Baekhyun was known as the village bicycle.”

Sehun spewed out his water, looking as though he had just drooled all over his face. Kai wasn’t so lucky, pinching his nose from the pain that came from his drink going the other way. Kyungsoo hit his chest and coughed, and the only ones who weren’t as dramatically affected were Baekhyun, Chanyeol, and Luhan himself.

Baekhyun laughed as he reached over for the water pitcher at their table. “I remember that. Was it ‘Bicycle Byun’ or ‘Byun Baek-Bicycle’ that they called me?”

“I think it was both.”

Slowly chewing his food, Chanyeol kept his eyes down, choosing to remain calm and continue on with cutting his steak. “Those are creative names, Baek.”

“Oh, no,” Luhan said before he put his fork intertwined with spaghetti strings in it into his mouth, “that’s not creative. The cheer that he had during our second year was.”

Then, in unison, Baekhyun and Luhan opened their mouths and sang, “Bang, bang, choo choo train. Come on, Baek-Bum, do your thing!”

Swinging his head over to Baekhyun, Chanyeol gave him a look. “‘Baek-bum’?” he asked in a platonic tone.

Baekhyun pursed his lips outwards and nodded. “My butt was more glorified than the school’s beloved alma mater.”

“Yes, it was,” Luhan agreed.

Before Chanyeol could ask any more of how the “village bicycle” came to be, Kyungsoo had another coughing fit and abruptly changed the subject to letting Baekhyun know about Nugget’s discomfort riding with Sehun. Following the flow of the conversation, Luhan joined in, informing the engaged couple about Nugget’s howling moments of loneliness during the drive and his attempts to claw Sehun’s shirt open.

Baekhyun had requested a few things when there was a discussion on what the new house needed to have, and although Chanyeol made it as though he didn’t give two shits about the brunet’s elaborate and specific wish list, he made decisions based on what Baekhyun wanted anyways. In accordance to Baekhyun’s number one wish of things he wished to have, the new house was another beach front property.

The elevation of the house was similar to their old one, but on the beach, it had its own dock. Prior to revealing to the others that they were moving, Chanyeol had a floating deck made and placed fifty meters from the shore, just like the one he had made for their old home. Both were made for Baekhyun’s amusement, but they were also made to put Chanyeol’s mind at ease because he at least knew that if Baekhyun had issues with swimming to shore, he could swim to the floating raft.

The house had two stories, ten bedrooms, five and a half bathrooms, a kitchen, a basement, a balcony for the master bedroom, and a doggy door that Chanyeol also ordered to be made prior to their move in for the sake of Baekhyun’s dog.

The first time Baekhyun stepped foot on the property he was in awe just because there was a small, waist-high gate in the front. “Chanyeol, this gate looks so pretty,” he said when he touched the metal bars. “You can’t tell that six grown men live here.”

Discussing the house arrangements went with little to no trouble at all.

Once all the boxes were inside the house and Chanyeol had directed the movers as to where to put their furniture for the time being, he got down to business with room assignments. With everyone sitting on one box or another in the living room, Chanyeol pulled out a tiny piece of paper where he made his small notes.

“Aside from the master bedroom and the two rooms nearest to it, you’re free to choose which ever room fits to your preference.” After he said so, the rest waited for more until Chanyeol informed them that he had said everything that needed to be.

As the house members dispersed, Baekhyun frowned as he walked over to where Chanyeol stood once the area became clear. With Nugget in his arms, Baekhyun kept moving his arms up and down as though he was trying to lull a child to sleep. “Chanyeol, do I get to choose a room, too?”

Folding the piece of paper in his hand and putting in his back pocket, Chanyeol blinked at the small brunet. “Of course, you do. We’ll have the master bedroom.”

With a troubled look on his face, Baekhyun mumbled a few things under his breath. “I want my own, though.”

“Baek-”

“So, it’s okay if I take the basement bedroom, right? Okay. Thank you,” he said quickly.

When he turned around to attempt a quick escape and a rejection, Chanyeol stopped him with his mere voice. “Park Baekhyun!”

Baekhyun lifted up his chin. “The last time I looked at my driver’s license, it said that my last name was Byun. We’re not married yet, therefore, I can still have my own room.”

Wondering how the hell he had made it over a year with the stubborn male, Chanyeol bit his tongue back and put his hands on his hips. “Baekhyun, there’s no reason for you to have your own room.”

“If you’re trying to tell me that just because we’re a ‘couple’ that we should have to share a room together, then how come Kyungsoo and Kai can have their own when it’s clear that they’re together?” Baekhyun argued, using his fingers to keep Nugget entertained even though pup was gnawing at the front of his dad’s graphic t-shirt. “To keep things fair under this new house, I say that I should get one, too.”

Taking in a deep breath and letting it out, Chanyeol cocked his head. “As far as I know, Kyungsoo is not seeing anybody in this household and he is-”

“Kai openly touches his ass!” Baekhyun piped. “Then, sometimes, I’ll walk in on them kissing right here.” To demonstrate, the brunet puckered his lips.

Chanyeol stifled the temptation to smile. Giving any sort of positive feedback would’ve encouraged Baekhyun even more. “Like I was saying, Kyungsoo isn’t seeing Kai-”

“Chanyeol! Yes, he is-”

Stepping forward closer to Baekhyun, Chanyeol held up a hand. “He is not.”

The giant’s repetitive denial made Baekhyun question for a short while whether or not all those moments when he witnessed Kai and Kyungsoo’s bickering turn into a make out were all real or just part of his weird imagination. When he decided that he wasn’t crazy, he realized what Chanyeol was trying to do. “You can’t just deny that they’re not together! I even lent my lube tube to Kai because he needed it and-”

“You lent him ours!?” Chanyeol asked loudly, his mind off the matter of the conversation.

“Correction, I said mine, not ours,” Baekhyun replied, scoffing. “I have a special one that I like to use on myself-Anyways! My point is that they’re together, but I don’t see them being forced to pack in the same room together.”

Rubbing his forehead, Chanyeol groaned. “Baekhyun, it’s in their contract that they are not allowed to date anyone within this household otherwise they’ll face the possibility of termination. It’s in everyone’s work contract with me. Also, under that contract is the obligation that I provide each employee with a room of their own. As far as I’m concerned, Kyungsoo and Kai will have their own rooms and they are not seeing each other, therefore, they won’t have to be evaluated by me, alright? What they do in this house is beyond me, so whatever they decide to do, I’ll look the other way for the sake of professionalism and courtesy, Baekhyun-and on the side note, stop watching them kiss!”

Out of arguments, Baekhyun scrunched his nose. “I need my own room for my books, then!”

“I bought you a house with a library!”

“Where am I supposed to go when I don’t want to see your face!? That happens a lot, you know,” Baekhyun said, loudly sighing and exaggerating his expression by sagging his shoulders. “Sometimes you do things that make me mad and seeing you is kind of annoying when that happens.”

“That’s just great to hear, then,” Chanyeol said sarcastically.

“Please?”

“No.”

With his lips tightly pressed together, Baekhyun narrowed his eyes. “We’ll see.” To his dog, he softly said as he walked off, “Come on. Let’s go find us a room. Your other dad’s being an asshole-as usual.”

Nugget grunted. He only had one dad and the giant was not him.

-

-

Much of the move in day was spent getting the basic things move and placed in the right areas of the house. Chanyeol took care of the larger furniture with the help of Kai and Luhan. Baekhyun had offered to help carry large things like the mattresses and sofas, but Chanyeol adamantly put him in charge of doing work that didn’t require much lifting. He essentially assigned the brunet the job of opening up the boxes and sorting everything out.

Nugget tried to help, but after the first few bite marks on Kyungsoo’s wooden stirring spoons, Baekhyun had to sit him in a corner and repeatedly tell his son to stay. Chanyeol came by often in the barren living room where his fiancé was slowly unpacking everything just to ask how he was doing. After an hour passed, Baekhyun became bored of the task and decided to leave his station and go out to explore. Nugget tried to follow, but figuring that the dog needed some outside exploration, Baekhyun put him outside.

Once Nugget was distracted by the new obstacles to explore in his new backyard, Baekhyun went downstairs to check out the basement. There was nothing in there, but a few things Chanyeol had decided to store for later use. However, it was furnished and Baekhyun couldn’t help, but let his imagination run about all the things he could do in there, especially once he moved in, despite the fact that Chanyeol was adamant about having separate bedrooms.

Afterwards, he ran upstairs and stuck his presence in the library that Chanyeol had arranged. In it was a large book shelf just as his giant promised and Baekhyun couldn’t be happier. A part of him never wanted to leave, and he gave into that. Closing the door and locking it as he sought solidarity, he isolated himself for a short while and walked over to open the window to let air in before he lied in the middle of the room, accidentally falling asleep afterwards.

-

-

Once all the mattresses were put in everyone’s room so that they would at least have something to sleep on that night, everyone gathered in the empty kitchen where Kyungsoo was making sandwiches just for the hell of it because there was nothing else to use. While everyone talked away and made conversation that turned into slight bicker, Chanyeol saw that Baekhyun wasn’t around. His dog apparently found the doggy door in the kitchen and was present, but his father was not.

Taking it upon himself to look for the brunet, Chanyeol left the rest to search the basement knowing that Baekhyun kept talking about it all day. Even when he came around to check up on the boxes, Baekhyun would always try and reason why he needed the basement. However, when Chanyeol searched the underground room, he found no one.

There was a slight panic inside of him, but he figured that he shouldn’t overreact before knowing the entire truth of it. He quickly went back to the first level and checked all the rooms before running up to the second story. If Baekhyun wasn’t up there, then Chanyeol had knew he had to look on the beach. He swore that if he really had to resort to searching the shore for Baekhyun’s body, he was going to throw the idiot in the ocean and kill him himself for causing him such a worry.

Every single bedroom was checked and all the bathrooms were inspected. The last place Chanyeol stopped was the library, but he didn’t have much hope of Baekhyun being in there until he tried to open the door and found it locked. Flashes of thoughts came across his mind as he wondered whether the library had always been locked. Then he remembered walking past it and seeing that the door was open just like every other door in the house.

He knocked lightly at first, but when no response was heard, Chanyeol knocked harder. “Baekhyun, I know you’re in there. Come on, open up.”

When he received nothing in return again, the giant knocked harder until he was slapping the door impatiently. After a few minutes of intense pounding, the door knob jiggled and Chanyeol could hear the barricade being unlocked. But, when the white door was thrown open, he didn’t expect the treatment that he got.

“I was sleeping, you ass crack!”

Blinking, Chanyeol took in the sight of Baekhyun’s messy hair getting in the way of his eyes and the way he had taken off his gray cardigan and resorted to wearing his white shirt only.

“What the hell were you doing in here?” he asked, attempting to avoid an argument by commenting on the brunet’s cranky outburst.

“Nothing,” Baekhyun mumbled under his breath. He tried to close the door again, but Chanyeol grabbed the edge of it and stopped the action.

“It’s six o’clock. Come downstairs and eat,” Chanyeol said, giving Baekhyun a soft expression. “Nugget also needs to eat. He’s just sitting in a corner wondering where you are.”

Baekhyun rubbed his eyes. “I’m not hungry,” he said as he gave up trying to close the door and crawled back on the ground. “I’ll feed him later. It’s not seven, yet. He needs to get used to a scheduled feeding, anyways.”

Chanyeol watched as the brunet got on the ground rolled on his side, using his arm as a pillow against the hardwood floors. Leaning against the doorframe, he crossed his arms. “If you want to sleep then go sleep in the bedroom. I already set up the bed so there’s at least one pillow you can use.”

“I like it here.”

Humming in disapproval, Chanyeol moved from the doorway and crouched down beside Baekhyun, facing the brunet’s back. “Well, I don’t like the fact that you’ve been sleeping on the floor.”

“I’m used to it,” Baekhyun yawned. Then he turned around on the other side so he could face Chanyeol with his tired face. “I was fine until you woke me up.”

Sighing, Chanyeol curled his finger. “Come on. Get up. If you’re not going to eat, then let me take you to our bed. I don’t like you sleeping like this. You’re going to mess up your back.”

Laughing softly, Baekhyun rolled his eyes. “And all those times when you had me bent off the ground wasn’t going to mess my back?”

Frowning, Chanyeol shook his head. “That was all on a bed. I’m careful, Baekhyun.”

“Of course.”

After having a slight stare off with each other, Baekhyun raised his arms. Knowing what the brunet expected, Chanyeol let out a breath of air before he got closer and scooped him up. “If I hated you…” he started.

“If you hated me…” Baekhyun repeated slowly.

“If I hated you, I wouldn’t be carrying you just to put you in bed two doors down.”

Smiling, Baekhyun nuzzled Chanyeol’s chest. “Even if you hated me, you’d still be carrying me to places. Face the fact that you’re a pushover.”

Scoffing, Chanyeol gave a small shrug as he carefully walked them through the doorway. “You’re just manipulative.”

“How dare you accuse me…” Baekhyun asked, feigning offense. “Let me educate you, twat. There’s a difference between being manipulative and taking real leadership-”

“Oh, asking for a separate bedroom from your husband-to-be is what you call taking real leadership?” Chanyeol snorted.

“Fun fact,” Baekhyun said as they passed a hallway bathroom, “some couples don’t actually sleep in the same bed until they’re married. Do you want to try that-”

“No,” Chanyeol interrupted. “We will not.”

“But-”

“Stop it. I’m not willing to do that.”

Pursing his lips outwards, Baekhyun hummed. “Fine, but about the basement-”

Once both were through the double doors of their bedroom, Chanyeol gently set his twiddling idiot on the bed. “Baekhyun, stop it and listen to me. I didn’t move into a larger house for you just so we could sleep in separate rooms. The master bedroom’s all the way here on the second floor and the basement is below the first floor. That’s too far in case of an emergency, and I’d rather have you with me if something happens.” When Baekhyun opened his mouth, Chanyeol placed a finger over his lips. “Don’t argue.”

Pulling his lips away from Chanyeol’s finger, Baekhyun scrunched his nose. “Well, what’d you do to the bed in my old room?”

“I put it in one of the guest rooms.”

Ruffling his hair in a tired manner, Baekhyun shrugged. “Can you move it to the library, then? The library’s right there. It’s not as far as the basement, but it’ll do. It has a lock on the door. That’s all that matters.”

Looking straight into Baekhyun’s dark eyes, Chanyeol pinched the brunet’s cheek out of nowhere, earning a yelp from the persistent idiot. “You really want your own place?”

“I mean, if wives can let their husbands have Man Caves, then I think it’s only fair that I have my own, but instead of using it for sports and all, I use it to read and get away from you, you know?”

As the brunet spoke, Chanyeol felt like face palming himself with Baekhyun’s talk and reason about using a room to get away from him as if it was normal to confess to one’s own fiancé that, sometimes, it’s tiring to see their face. The giant didn’t know whether or not to be upset that Baekhyun was essentially trying to set up a relationship bomb shelter or be glad that they were close enough that the smaller male could tell him that sometimes he didn’t want any interaction after fighting.

However, as opposed as Chanyeol was to the idea of separate beds, he conceded. The library was far closer than the basement, but he didn’t settle without making certain lines clear.

“Fine, but just because I put a bed in the library, it doesn’t mean that that’s your bedroom, alright? This is where you’ll sleep. Here in the master bedroom with me.”

Knowing that it was probably the only deal he was going to get, Baekhyun nodded. “Okay,” he said. “I get to decorate the room, though. It’s mine.”

“Who else’s would it be?” Chanyeol softly scoffed as he flicked the brunet’s bare forehead. “I bought it for you and I had that shelf just for you. It’s yours, anyways. Do what you what with it. Just don’t create a mess or move completely in it. I still need you in here.”

Grinning as he cocked his head, Baekhyun brought his hands up to his face, cupping it. “Mr. Park, you’re such a pushover, not to mention an extremely gross man with a heart more delicate than Nugget’s soft shit,” he cooed. Before Chanyeol could physically retaliate, Baekhyun threw his hands up in the air. “Now, carry me downstairs. I changed my mind. I want to eat.”

Shaking his head, Chanyeol backed away. “I’ve already given you everything. You have legs. You can walk downstairs by yourself, idiot.”

Grumbling, Baekhyun shuffled out of bed and stood up. Then he walked past Chanyeol, but waited at the door for him. “It’s commonly desired, but if you need statistics, it’s also proven through survey that people want husbands that’ll treat them right.”

Walking up to Baekhyun and following the brunet out the door, Chanyeol paced himself beside him. “Do I not treat you right? Is that what you’re trying to imply?”

“No,” Baekhyun said. “If you did, you wouldn’t be making me walk right now.”

“Well, I’m so sorry,” the giant responded sarcastically.

“You should be.”

“Well, did you know,” Chanyeol started, glancing down at the male who was diligently walking right next to him, “that husbands like partners who aren’t sarcastic little idiots that like to be stubborn about everything that they’re told to do?”

“That’s a science that is yet to be proven,” Baekhyun said, lifting his chin.

“Oh, that came from firsthand experience, babe.”

Walking faster, Baekhyun made space between them. “If you don’t like me because I’m a ‘sarcastic little idiot’, Chanyeol, then maybe you should take this engagement ring off my finger and shove it up someone more worthy!”

Chanyeol quickened his stride. “I would. I definitely would if I could!”

Throwing his head back, Baekhyun shot frowning glares in Chanyeol’s way. “Then do it!” he snapped.

Catching up to what seemed like Baekhyun trying to jog his way away from him, Chanyeol skillfully scooped his brazen fiancé up into arms and gave them a moment to readjust and for Baekhyun to calm down from the initial scare of being suddenly lifted.

Then, without saying a word, Chanyeol craned his head to capture the brunet’s lips with his and pulled back before he had to deal with protest. “I’m kidding. I wouldn’t trade you for the world.”

Baekhyun kept silent before he balled his hand into a fist and pounded Chanyeol on the chest twice. The giant didn’t deny it. It kind of hurt. “You’re an asshole, Chanyeol,” Baekhyun growled, trying to make it seem as though he was angry. “By that, I mean, a great, big, giant asshole.”

Grinning, Chanyeol started moving towards the stairs. “First day in and we’re already fighting. Imagine what it’ll be like fifty years from now.”

Baekhyun sniffed, resting his head against the giant’s shoulder. “You’ll accuse me of stealing your retainer, then I push you down the stairs and you break a hip. Then, you die and I won’t be able to masturbate without feeling a ghostly presence,” he said softly.

“Baekhyun, fifty years from now, you’d be over seventy years old. I don’t think you’ll be masturbating anymore by then,” Chanyeol said in a monotone despite the fact that he had a small smirk on his face at the thought of Baekhyun never changing.

“Do you want to know what I think about that?” Baekhyun asked, looking up.

Chanyeol looked down. “What?”

“Challenge accepted,” he whispered in a serious voice, and Chanyeol couldn’t help but burst out into a fit of laughter that could be heard all the way in the kitchen where the others had left two sandwiches just for the arguing couple.
