So, on my day off this week I have nothing planned. That is kind of amazing because I always seem to have something that I have to go and do on my day off. - TV on the Radio, "Return to Cookie Mountain" album (especially Wolf Like Me, Hours, Province, and Dirtywhirl oh my god Dirtywhirl)
- the Avett Brothers. My absolute favorite. They released their first "major" album (with Rick Rubin producing, ehh) in September, it's called "I & Love & You" and it's a good album... my favorites are 10,000 Words, Laundry Room, I & Love & You, and Kick Drum Heart
I think "Emotionalism" is a much stronger album and is also much closer to the origins and the heart of their sound (more banjos and bluegrassy-grunge, less poppy). My list of favorite songs of theirs is way too long, so let's just say if you can download "Emotionalism" you'll cover most of them ;) (plus "At the Beach" from Mignonette, very necessary, but that's all I'm saying!)
- Can't stop listening to Phoenix lately. I just have a random assortment of songs I stole from my boyfriend, but I'm loving: Lasso, Everything is Everything, 1901, Holdin on Together, Girlfriend, Consolation Prizes...
