This is me at Clonmacnoise in Ireland. Excuse my while I go all history dork on you for a minute here. Clonmacnoise was the place where Christianity started in Ireland. Despite the fact that I have pretty much never set foot inside a church in my life I loved when we stopped here on the trip (I went during spring break during my junior year of college with a school trip). The ruins were really cool and the old church and statues. These one's were really pretty. It was sunny when we got there but rain came in while we were taking our tour (that's Ireland for you, I guess). There was a really cool tower where the priests would hide their treasures if invaders came down (the River Shannon I believe) and there's this doorway to the church called the Whispering Arch.
There's a indent in the archway that lets sound travel. Even though it was windy and loud out I would hear from the other side what she was saying. It used to be used for lepers to confess their sins to priests, today I guess a lot of people propose there. Strange, I know, but I kind of find it a little bit romantic. It was really funny because I was reading a book about it at the time (but you'll hear about that tomorrow).
Work was really long today. Firstly because my sister (the one I share a room with) is kind of a bitch. she shut off my fan last night and her cell phone kept going off. Grrr... she wasn't even working today; I don't understand why the sound was even on. So, I got very little sleep and had to be there early. I continually had customers tell me I didn't know something today. I'm sorry, I've been working for the store for four years in 12 different stores. I'm pretty sure I know what items we sell and how the hot bar works. I'm sorry I'm only a lowly grocery store worker but at least I'm not an asshole to people. Also, apparently being female in the department meant I was the only person who could possibly do any customer service even though I had a huge list of prep to do. I didn't even finish it. Off to boring Acton next week. Maybe I'll get back to Westborough the week after that (Devon, I think I saw the twins working in Starbucks).
On a brighter note I listened to The Cab for the first time in over three weeks, since Cash left. It made me really happy. and then I put my ipod on shuffle to work on my room a little and Konstantine was the first song to come on. I'm seriously going to upload my entire SoCo library to mediafire later this week. good music days make me happy.
