So the concert last night was pretty amazing. There was an opening band, though we only got there in time to catch their last song. I am proud to say that I got all the way to the arena in lowell, and back, without having to turn around or correct myself once - this never happens.
The Cab - I seriously wanted to see them just as much as I wanted to see Panic. They didn't disappoint in anyway. Wait, that is a lie - They didn't play 'Take My Hand' which is my favorite of their songs and my text ringtone. They have so much energy onstage. It was really reminiscent of when I saw Something Corporate there when I was 16. They had the entire crowd jumping and dancing. I love when bands can do that. We were wicked close to the stage at this point but almost no one was there that early. Singer really does have an amazing voice, and Ian is the most entertaining guitar player I've ever seen. Not only is he really good, but the bouncing, and the hair! And umm... Cash. I love the kid to death and I find him even cooler onstage. Though, yeah, he is totally faily. Does anyone know what he has written on the back of his bass?
Plain White T's - I'm not a huge fan of this band. The two of their songs I do like were good, but when they played that Delilah song I wanted to tear my hair out. Ugh. I hate it. The new songs were pretty decent.
Dashboard Confessional - Last time I saw them was freshman year when they performed at AssCo. I knew most of the songs and Chris is wicked cool. When he was singing a song at the piano he sang a verse of Augustana's 'Boston.' He also brought Singer, Marshall and Ian out to sing that cover of the new Pink song. Best part of the night was the 'I've got to stop drinking before shows' that he offered the song before singing something. Unfortunately at some point during Plain White T's something went funny with the speakers and there was kind of this buzzy quality to the music the rest of the night.
Panic - I have no words. I was wicked psyched to see them. They definitely didn't disappoint. Jon and Ryan kept bickering across the stage, and Ryan dedicated 'Lying is the most fun' to, and I quote, "all the lovers in the crowd - and Brendon Urie." Do with that what you will. And yeah, they sang 'It's Almost Halloween' which was still quite awesome, even without the synchronized dance moves. Spencer came down to the floor to play the last few songs. Ugh, the porno-stache needs to go, and at one point everyone else was on the other side of the stage and tried to call him over. I thought Brendon was really going to take over for him. He's so funny when he's on the drums. But yeah, 'Shout' was so much fun, people were all jumping up and down and yelling. Brendon's dance demos weren't so bad either. *wiggles eyebrows* I'm not going to lie, I couldn't take my eyes off of him the whole time I was onstage. My roommate will second that.
I was hugely annoyed with all the cameras that people had. I get taking a few pictures and maybe filming your favorite song but when you film the entire thing, and hold your camera up so that the people behind you can't see... grr... not cool.
I can't wait to see them again.
Only 18 days until my next concert. Now where are my tickets?
Tomorrow's Halloween. Frat party is going to be awesome!
