[Saren's only been here for a short while, but he's already not impressed. Digging through the device he had helped him find the need-to-know, but nothing he's read thus far has satisfied him adequately enough. The feed comes on and shows Saren, who might look familiar if you've seen Garrus around. When he speaks his voice is so very, very, dry and ( Read more... )

[Oh.
Well.
This is something he hoped he didn't have to deal with. There's a long pause before he actually turns on the comm.]

Most games don't.

[A pause - then.]

I do not see what benefit there is by bringing the dead into this.

Nihlus.

Some say the Island has a sick sense of humor. I'm inclined to agree.

Hello, Saren.

The Island.

[Did you lose brain cells when he shot you, Nihlus]

[Oh fuck no.]

You stay outside.

['Bullet through my skull', yeah right. Shepard had to kill him herself, and now he's talking like he took the ~noble way out~?]

Shepard.

[He knew you were here. Instead of being back home, you know, FIGHTING THE REAPERS. He's still uncertain of what to think.]

[YOU THINK SHE HAD A CHOICE? NO.]

Make no mistake, Saren, you aren't coming through those gates.

[Yep, it's official, whoever brought them here has a phenomenal sense of humor. Kasumi had never dreamed she'd come in contact with a dead person, much less.. this dead person..]

So far, the only purpose seems to be screwing with the laws of.. well, everything.

[Time, space, and.. Well, she guessed 'death' qualified as a law of the universe.]

And no one knows what is responsible.

[Saren's not impressed.]

As far as I know, nope. And I know everything.

[Might've been a bit of a stretch, but whatever.]

But you still don't have answers. That makes you useless.

[Believe me, Girge can empathize with the whole 'bullet through the skull' thing.]

Then why not create a meaning?

It isn't that simple.

Of course not. It'd be too boring otherwise.

[Now this, Tali was not expecting. Nihlus was one thing, but Tali never met Nihlus, so there was a disconnect there. She’s met Saren, saw him killed by Shepard. It brings a chill down her spine.] I hope whoever’s running this programme knows what they are doing.

There's always a meaning. You just need to search for it.

[He recognizes you, Quarian. He ignores...pretty much everything you just said.]

You're one of Shepard's crew.

[Well, if you’re going to be like that, Saren....]

Yes, I am. I even have a name - Tali’Zorah vas Normandy. I’m surprised you recognise me - but then, I’m surprised you recognise anything at all after Shepard killed you.

After Shepard killed me? I took my own life, Quarian.
