Outside I'm masquerading / Inside my hope is fading.
Her mistress was crying in the bedroom. Gwen recognized the sound as she stood in front of the door, her tail moving across the floor. Swish, swish, swish. She twitched her ear as the music played and she sniffed the air, her whiskers twitching.
Just a clown oh yeah / Since you put me down.
She didn't understand crying. But what did a cat know of human emotion, really? She was beginning to get bored. Gwen licked her paw and started cleaning her face as she listened to the mixture of music and grief from the other room.
My smile is my make up.
Gwen pressed her paw against the door and opened it just a crack. She made her way in, jumping on the bed and making her way over to her mistress. She gathered she didn't have to understand human emotion, really. She padded across the duvet and nuzzled her head against her mistress' forehead, offering the only comfort she knew.
I wear since my break up with you.
"Meow."
